Gators football player charged with using dead girl's credit card -- -- OrlandoSentinel.com

GAINESVILLE - Florida safety Jamar Hornsby used a credit card
belonging to the father of a deceased former UF student more
than 70 times and charged more than $2,800 worth of merchandise
throughout the state, according to the Alachua County court records.

Hornsby, who has spent two seasons on UF's football team,
was arrested around 5:30 a.m. Friday at the Alachua County
Jail on charges of misdemeanor credit card theft and felony
fraudulent use of a credit card. He surrendered to authorities
at the jail and, according to the jail's on-line database,
remained in custody there until about 2 p.m. Friday,
when he was released on his own recognizance.

Nah. More like a certainty in the paste tense. Meyer dismissed him from the program. Took him almost a day, as he was out of town when it broke, but when he returned to G-ville that same afternoon he made a one sentence comment that Hornsby is no longer a part of the program.

If anyone else was involved, then they need to be gone too, even if it's Tebow and Harvin riding in his car knowing he was using the card to steal gas. Launch anyone who had a hand in this. The dead girl's boyfriend is still a player on the team, and Hornsby has more to fear from a butt whipping by teammates than he does the judge.

I wish we'd move this to the police blotter thread where I could curse...

I just want to say that that worthless asswipe excuse for a human being should be banned from all future NCAA play for being such a worthless fuckstick bag of skin. He is stealing from the dead girl within hours of helping his roommate - her boyfriend - clean out her apartment?

I have mixed feelings, hoping he is expelled from UF, and also hoping he stays and gets blanket partied. Can you imagine the poor parents? True, it is not worse than rape, shooting somebody, etc., but on a slime ball quotient it has to rate up there with stealing senile old people's money or tel-evangelizing like Robert Tilton(sp) - who preys on people's desperate circumstances, like when he had the faithful buy special "prayer cloths" for him to pray over, and the people in his mail room just threw them in the trash after ripping the envelopes open to get the money.

East Mississippi CC safety Jamar Hornsby, who was dismissed from Florida over the summer after using a deceased friend's gas card. Hornsby recently committed to Ole Miss. "I'm real excited," he said. "When I was growing up, I wanted to play in the SEC. I went to Florida. That didn't work out. This will with Ole Miss."
