College sports used to be my passion but the money has just ruined it. Makes me sad. You’re not wrong, but top tier college football is a professional sport now. So the only metric that matters for the playoff team selection process is maximizing television revenue. The playoffs are going to expand to at least 16. We’ll be lucky if it doesn’t expand beyond that. If you think it’s bad now, wait until private equity gets involved.
It goes back to the simple truth of every out come being skill + luck = outcome.I may be misreading some of your prior posts, but there also seems to be an unstated assumption that luck plays a bigger role when you're on defense than when you're on offense, and I don't understand why that's the case if it is what's being assumed.
Massive fuckery afoot in Pitt/Det game.
Wow
This is the way.So all the cheating, the federal privacy crimes by a coach, Bo ignoring sexual assaults, the Fab Five, the hockey program’s shenanigans, and the myriad of additional off-field issues were all totally fine. But THIS is the last straw? You have no moral compass, you ignorants sluts, so stop pretending like you do. Your university is a fucking joke, same as it ever was. Nothing has changed.
I think that the unaccounted for variable here is that both the offense and the defense have to execute. If you go uptempo, you may increase the odds of defensive execution errors (e.g. flat out coverage busts), that let you score with fewer plays, and thereby fewer opportunities for poor offensive execution. If you think that your offense has more execution issues than your defense, then trying to score with fewer plays by forcing defensive execution errors and trusting your defense to execute even when the opposing offense gets more opportunities may be the way to go. I may be misreading some of your prior posts, but there also seems to be an unstated assumption that luck plays a bigger role when you're on defense than when you're on offense, and I don't understand why that's the case if it is what's being assumed. This is the exact "logic" a bad gambler falls into and starts making more bets when he's losing. "I just need more opportunities to overcome bad luck"
There is no way to equivocate on this, if you are having execution problems, doing it on volume is not a good idea.
This is awesome. Thank you for saying itLove y’all psychopaths. Best to you and your families. If you’re going through something hard keep fighting and win.
This forum is a lifeline for me and I appreciate all of you very much. Getting into mid-30s has taught me to make sure you tell people what they mean to you no matter the degree of involvement or impact.
I fucking love talking about this program, team, the games and everything else with you.
Well when she puts it like that…I hope she lives forever
I don’t know all the Texans. But I know a few. And upon meeting you, they take it as an insult if you aren’t a cowboys fan. Or a longhorns fan. Or acknowledge that Texas is better than everywhere else. Or a rangers fan. Or worship dubya. Or wish you were in Texas right now. Or fall asleep thinking of all the words TEXAS can spell. Or wonder why TEXAS is never the Wordle answer. Or wonder why Texas hasn’t seceded and gone to war with the rest of the world. It's not like California, New York or Boston arrogance. They don't give a single fuck what you think of them or where they live. Texas arrogance is profoundly rooted in insecurity. They need...demand...that you acknowledge and validate their puffed chest vision of themselves and Texas.
27-6I'm thinking something closer to 24-10 but you might be right. Famous last words but I'm having a hard time seeing how UM scores more than 10 that aren't the result of turnovers.
