2025 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

So Gerry DiNardo decided to complain about the Playoff System on BTN Today.

He bitches about Utah as the #13 team being left out because unranked Memphis gets a spot for the Group of 5/6. He wants the '12 best teams'.

Um, Gerry, Utah wouldn't get a spot as the #13 team. The teams in the Top-12 that are getting bumped are #11 Texas by ACC 'champion' Virginia (highest ranked in their conf) and #12 Oklahoma, who is the team being bumped by Memphis.

If you're going to complain about the system, try getting a clue about what you're complaining about.

2026 AZ OL Aaron Thomas (Minnesota Verbal)

Not that it matters but I’m curious as to what this means, ‘Thomas has visited Dinkytown multiple times already’. Anyone know what Dinkytown is?

Dinkytown is a commercial district within the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Centered at 14th Avenue Southeast and 4th Street Southeast, the district contains several city blocks occupied by various small businesses, restaurants, bars, and apartment buildings that house mostly University of Minnesota students. Dinkytown is along the North side of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities East Bank campus

2025 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

My thoughts:
1. I don't care how many Big Ten teams get in. Fuck the SEC, but I don't care how many Big Ten teams get in. Put Ohio State in and watch us try to win.
2. They seem to be really interested in having the SEC get more teams get in. (I'm not surprised.)

Are they showing their SEC homerism, or are they trying to find things to talk about?

Yes

Difference between Big Ten and SEC is illustrated starting around 3:50 into this video. They start talking about a possibility of a 5th SEC team to get into the playoff, and then it goes into a discussion of which conference will get more teams in.

I don't care how many B1G teams get in either but you know they are just itching to maximize SEC teams every year because they know eventually most of them will happen to win their games and advance and then they can use that one occurrence from that point on to justify why the SEC should get half the field every year

Former Buckeye OT commit Aaron Thomas commits to Minnesota.

Not entirely random, as they were the first school in on him, before his recruitment blew up in the spring. But also probably proves the rumors true that his senior film night not have shown much progress as the staff had hoped to see.

Ohio State has a Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year semifinalist for the second straight season.
One season after Jeremiah Smith finished as a runner-up to Texas defensive end Colin Simmons for the National Freshman of the Year honors, Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin has been named one of 14 semifinalists for the award named after former Alabama All-American running back Shaun Alexander.
Sayin has not only been one of the best freshmen in college football in 2025, but one of the best players overall. Following a 316-yard, four-touchdown performance in Ohio State's win over Penn State, Sayin became the odds-on favorite to win the Heisman Trophy on FanDuel Sportsbook at +150. The redshirt freshman signal-caller ranks ahead of Indiana's Fernando Mendoza (+240) and Alabama's Ty Simpson (+390) entering Week 11. Smith has the sixth-best odds at +4000.
While leading Ohio State to an 8-0 start to the season, Sayin has completed 176 of 218 passes for 2,188 yards, 23 touchdowns and three interceptions. Sayin's 80.7% completion rate leads the nation, as does his 197.1 passer rating. He also ranks third in touchdown passes, third in yards per completion (tied with Florida State's Tommy Castellanos) and 19th in passing yards.

LSU Tigers (official thread)

so LSU has a new president.
his first move was to take the "interim" tag off Verge Ausberry to make him permanent AD.

then immediately says he'll remove the tag and then assess the situation before deciding what direction we want to go.

wtf does that even mean?

also says he doesn't know much about Ausberry's involvement in the Title IX scandal.

how the fuck is that even possible?
