WR Marvin Harrison, Jr. (Silver Football, 2x Unanimous All-American, 2023 Biletnikoff winner, Heisman Finalist, Arizona Cardinals)

I'm a 49ers fan so I watched the game yesterday. Objectively, he does not look like the 4th pick in the draft. He is playing slow. Hopefully he doesn't turn out like Okudah and Chase Young---2 guys who I would have bet on to be stars who didn't do much

SEC (It just means more.. even its losses are wins)

Since God’s football conference is going to a 9 game conf schedule next year, they have announced the 3 perm rivals for all teams

IMG_4547.jpeg

The way this works is that each team will play the three designated “Rivals” every year and these three Rivals are guaranteed to be on the schedule for the next four years (two rounds of home and home). Then the six other opponents will rotate for two years (one round of home and home).

Initial thoughts:

1). Light work for LSU. Sheesh
2). Tennessee just drops Florida AND Georgia
3). Texas pretty much just playing the old SWC schedule at this point

Game Thread #1 tOSU at Washington, Sat. Sept. 27th, 3:30 ET, CBS

Having seen Washington's defense, I think The Buckeyes will be able to name their number. I also think that they took note of IU's blowout of Illinois and will want to send similar notice to the world despite not having IU on the schedule this year. Williams will probably hit a couple of plays, but he's not going to be just turning the corner on OSU like he has on inferior teams and his receivers aren't going to wide open all day even if Patricia doesn't baffle him like he did Manning. Even though it's on the road, I expect a blowout along the lines of 52-13.

Clemson Tigers (official thread)

The recruiting gurus would have to chime in but from my casual observer seat I seem to recall Dabo being very anti-NIL and recruiting reflecting that?

Could be a cautionary tale for those who don't believe talent follows money (in any walk of life).

My $.02 - he's the classic CEO head coach who doesn't handle the details very well. Dabo had GREAT Assistants at one point.

It took him 2-3 years - but look how much better Oklahoma looks under Venables

Clemson Tigers (official thread)

I don’t know man. It’s not like Clemson can’t figure the monetary piece out if they just pivoted their philosophy. If you’re the board at Clemson or the AD isn’t that a tough convo opportunity?

Look we want this to work, but there needs to be a shift in the way things are done or we need to look for a better fit if as the sport changes and the on field results continue in this direction.

I mean whatever I don’t care fuck the entire school, its fanbase and everything about them but the sensibility aspect is what’s baffling to me.

it basically took Ohio State a season to realize “shit, we need to fork it out or we are going to become ND”

By his public comments (many of them) I think Dabo actually has an issue with players getting NIL money (but he was fine paying under the table as pointed out above).

Maybe it's because he could tell himself he wasn't cheating the former way and now he finds some wired morality issue around the players being paid legally?

Why can tell what goes through the mind of Southern American, fake tv preacher types? Besides of course this whenever it suits them:
