It's possible, sucks Cannon got hurt because that would've at least tightened up the score. I usually write up a prediction by weight for this dual but I'm skipping it this year. We could get blown out on the road and lose toss up matches worse case scenario, or we could win the tight ones or where we're favored and only lose by 10-15 points best case scenario. Of course I hope we give them a run and pull off the upset, but it's just not going to happen.

I would guess that Day, Bjork, & Co. had a fairly in-depth interview(s) with him and asked that he explain his thoughts on the differences between his TN and ATL/Pitt offenses. Presumably, he answered to their satisfaction and was able to express how he thought he’d fit into the current team structure and culture. I would hope that this wasn’t a less than diligent hire and we just have to trust them, not that we can do anything about it one way or another.

Yeah, you mighta been two-timed....wife and daughter 'forced' me to buy a vehicle with those cameras to prevent the 'backing into traffic' stuff, as well as indicators that someone is in the left lane passing me, etc etc etc. OK, I'm not smart enough to be able to process all this information, but have started to rely on those cameras, rather than the look-over-the-shoulder glance. But also drive the country roads to the golf club, and see many to the 'California stop', with maybe a tap of the brakes then barrel through the intersection. PS, secretary asked me how I got to work...told her, and then she said that the farm workers generally don't even slow down on those back roads. Caused me to pause a bit, and look both ways to see if the oncoming car is actually slowing... and when there's the tully fog, we have idiots that don't put on their lights. Just be safe out there....

Professional Players Returning to College

Seem to recollect, back in the Gary Williams day, that tOSU got a commit from an overseas kid. He'd played in a semi-pro European League, and therefore could not receive a scholarship to play at Ohio State. And to think/believe that a local court would be impartial to a case that would allow a player to play for their 'hometown team' is completely ludicrous. Does one believe that an Ohio court would rule against a Buckeye player/recruit if would help the team. Thought not....

Well, that was unexpected. But, their three's were going in, and ours weren't. Believe Kitts is more important than previously imagined. She has to be in their to provide support to Elsa. And with that entre, Elsa has a couple of 'back to the basket' moves, but has zero on 'facing the basket'. Other than a screen for a guard coming across, would like to see her fake a handoff, and while the person guarding Elsa takes a step towards the cutter, have Elsa wheel and drive toward the hoop. Of course, she's gotta be closer to the free throw line than the halfcourt line. And Hobbs doesn't seem to have the skillset to block out, and or turn and put up a mid-range jumper either. A look at the box score, rebounds, will show that.

No one thought that was Brian, but the alternative was to lose the best wr recruiter in the history of the game, so he was promoted with those limitations.

Ryan does not need any help with passing schemes, other than possibly getting back to a wr rotation and perimeter blocking. Versus indiana and Miami, they schemed wrs open plenty often, the young QB simply was fleeing too often (in reality or out of fear of what had just happened).


Brian had his flaws, but overall still unleashed an absurdly talented pair of WRs, with Boyd, Henry and Guilford coming in, and brown up next. His inevitable departure only cost them a few backups and a west Coast wr always flirting with usc.

In the end, it was likely the ol recruiting/development that was the true achilles heel. Whatever the schematic flaws, or Julian's youth, or the depth issues at wr, they narrowly lost to the two championship game participants. It almost worked.

P.s. if we are fixating on single seasons, steer clear of chip in San fran.

Similar, but not quite the same story:
2001.... somewhere in southern Ohio. I was driving west toward Cincinnati on some back-country roads. 55mph speed limit. And in those days if the speed limit was 55, I was going 70. But something told me that there's going to be a speed trap coming up. Somewhere, there's going to be a small town with 1 police officer and he's looking for out-of-towners to catch. So I was watching my speed.
For a thousand miles, though, there was some dork-diggler right on my ass. You can pass on my left... just do it. I was way over to the right side of my lane. You can see around me. Go! He wouldn't go. He stayed right on my bumper. But I didn't go over 55.
Then, sure enough, we get to a small town. The speed limit ahead is going to drop to 25mph. I let off the gas and coast into town. I didn't slow down quickly enough because the cop got me still over 30 in a 25. The guy on my ass? He sped away at probably 40+ when the cop pulled out. I still think that they were working together to catch nerds like me.

Am guessing that until the Oregon benefactor passes, Oregon will be a player in the NIL game. Maybe he leaves a ton of cash in a trust to be doled out as necessary to secure Oregon players? Wouldn't be surprised. Anyway, always seems like Oregon gets 'close' but never has that impetus to get over the top. Will be watching to see how many of these 'NIL babies' transfer when they don't get the minutes they want/need.
