QB Tavien St. Clair (Official Thread)

I just don’t see how you can have that size and athletic ability and time in the program and get passed by a freshman. What was he doing last year?

The difference in Bellefontaine comp and Mission Viejo comp is standing out....mentally they are on different pages. As the confidence grows with Fahey each week it's only going to get tougher and tougher. St. Clair can be a good QB, as can Fahey, but we know it'll only work out for one here.

You need more than size and athletic ability in P4 CFB. This honestly should’ve been expected, he ran basic of basic offenses in rural OH. The offense was, everyone run far and Tavien will throw it to you, if you’re not open he’ll just run over the 5’10 180lb LB and 5’9 200 DE for a 20yd gain. Thats the crapshoot when you sign QBs from schools that don’t run college ready schemes, or anything close to complex and competition isn’t the best each week.

Game Thread Kent State at tOSU, Sept. 19th, 12pm ET, FOX

Man, I miss White Castle's. Used to get them at Cleveland and 5th ave for years. Grew up close to there. (never drank any MD though, lol)
I’d give anything for a swensons where I live.

My view of the game. Defense is an unknown, they were generally unchallenged and if not for that int it’s a shut out. A few things to note is that we still couldn’t get after the QB, we aren’t playing Wilder still, but the LB rotation is getting figured out because I saw much more Pettijohn instead of Pierce. It seems that James is more willing to play the talent than Larry is. I’d like to see more of Perez at DT too but doubtful it’ll happen.

Offense where to begin. They quit playing about 4 drives into the game after getting up 3 scores. They scored touchdowns on 2 fourth down conversions, failed on two other fourth down conversions, played too many tight ends again, and could not break a run longer than 15 or so yards. You add that to some miscommunications throwing the ball and it was a less than inspiring game offensively.

As it stands I’m not going to expect fire works again in a TEMU (talent equated match up) until I see it happen. I don’t know if the offense has regressed but Julian just looks off.

To the point where I’m pretty sure if this continues he’ll be back next year.

I’m more confident in the defense by far than I am with the offense.

College football is still such an emotional game as much as it is Xs and Os. When channeled properly, coaches can turn 18 year old kids into war machines.

(Pretty easy job for Golding tonight. These kids knew everything already. He just has to stay out of the way really)
we need to land a couple of punches to calm them down.

This is only one reason that leads me to believe the O has regressed.

This doesn't mean I don't think they can improve this season. With all the talent they have, there must be vast improvement.

However I do NOT believe Arthur Smith will lead us to said improvement. I never liked the hire, and never liked his NFL pedigree. I saw nothing that said he needs to be hired.

All I can say is I believe something is amiss. I hope I'm wrong and will be glad to eat crow.

Kewan Lacy plus Trinidad Chambliss is tough.

No clue Golden’s coaching chops but man, those two can win you a championship. They’re humming.
Nasty.

That's what I see developing in Louisville too. The variables are brutal in a Defense.

Look at that Ole Miss playing their A+ game tonight.
