OC Arthur Smith (Official Thread)

I really don't get the hate. He did well enough as Mike Vrabel's OC to get an NFL head coaching job, and was more successful than Patricia in his time with Detroit. He dealt with garbage talent with the Steelers the past 2 years, yet still went to the playoffs both years there. I haven't heard anyone who has worked with him say anything bad, and most of the good sounds pretty similar to what people are saying about MP. I would be terrified about going this hard against the hire out of fear that he does for the offense what Patricia did for the defense. I stand with Day. If he's good with it, I'm good with it.

Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

I don’t love the trade, but I think it helps future flexibility, sheds Garland’s contract, and potentially makes this a better team in postseason….if Harden is willing to play a 6th man type role.

Keep in mind, we were able to keep Strus, which changes this team drastically when he comes back….hopefully healthy.

I believe the Cavs are now committed to Donovan starting at PG, with Harden spelling him. They’ll prob share the court for 5-7 mins a game. I don’t think the intention is for Harden and Mitchell to play heavy minutes with each-other…

No offense to Darius….but he was significantly overpaid. On top of that, he’s been super fragile. I’m stoked they were able to get his contract off the roster.
way less flexibility when they extend harden because he waived his trade kicker... if this doesn't happen.. there 0 chance Harden isn't opting in to his $50M for next season... so basically you save 1 season thats it...

Miami (OH) Redhawks (Basketball Official Thread)

Rumor has it that the Miami BOT is deciding this month on go/no go on a new arena. Millett turns 60 in two years and has long been due for a makeover.

Over 10k (new attendance record) were at last Saturday’s game against No Illinois and at least 10k are expected for the game against Ohio on 2/13.

BTW: Miami women are also undefeated in the MAC so far this season and set a single game attendance record last Saturday.

Miami (OH) Redhawks (Basketball Official Thread)

Was very surprised to see my alma mater ranked inside the top 20! And with a perfect 20-0! Don't believe it's gonna last forever, but wow! Matriculated there, during the days of Freddy Foster, but gone during the Wally Szerbiak (sp?) days. Kentucky knocked them out of the Dance, by playing four guys on Wally, and one person covering the other four guys....guess no team scheduled this team as a 'body bag' game in preseason. PS, went there when we were called the Redskins....

Was at a game two weeks ago.
Millett Hall has alot of history but is pretty due for an upgrade.

The team itself is fun to watch. They're not terribly big, but their all Seniors and Juniors and they can all shoot it.

Crazy to think they might be the best team in the state this year.

2026 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments, Arrogant Twatwaffles, Emasculated Cucks, Feckless Marmots, Dirty Cheaters "Mid"chigan

When the very core of your cultural identity consists of the ironclad belief that you're special, superior, can never do wrong but rather are always the victim, it gives license to engage in all kinds of disgusting behavior and show zero reflection or self-awareness for that behavior.

Whittingham will probably run a clean program for the 3 years that he is there, but he will fundamentally change nothing about the place.

College Baseball News, Notes, Awards (Official Thread)

If so pics are a must
BYU also has an absolutely amazing backdrop for their baseball stadium.

I really want to go there one season just for the sights.
much better view than all of the nothing that's in outfield in Lubbock at Texas Tech.

yeah, I'm biased, but I think Death Valley looks pretty damn good nestled right between the scoreboard and The Indimidator at The Box

edit to add: I may still make the 2 hour trip up to Lubbock on one of the 2 days they host a game when LSU is off.
$10 per ticket ain't too bad.
