2025-2026 College Basketball General Discussion

K-State's coach Tang ripped his players after a 91-62 home loss vs. Cincinnati yesterday, saying "these dudes do not deserve to wear this uniform" and vowing to turn over the roster.

They’re not losing again this season.
Eh. Could see Michigan losing at least 2 games.

Michigan plays UCLA, @Purdue, Duke*, Minnesota,@Illnois, @Iowa, and Michigan State. Then you have the big ten tourney which is going to be a gauntlet. That is a brutal schedule to finish the season.

2027 TX DB Taelyn Mayo (Ole Miss Verbal)

That's incredibly tall for a CB. To the point the height works against you.

That said, I do love some taller, on ball CB play.
Yeah very few CBs excel being that tall(Sherman, Browner, Woolen). But if he can still keep his hips loose and stay low and not lose speed or athleticism at that size, then you have something very special

4 star TX corner Taelyn Mayo down to Ohio State, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas AM. Think we're at the top here
Would be a huge get, big fan of this kid's upside...crazy length and athleticism for a corner, reminds me and tad of Okudah in that regard.

OSU vs. USC, 6:30 PM EST 2/11 BTN

Was also nice to see our awesome arena have multiple clock failures too. Classy
It's like we're trying our best to further announce we don't care about basketball in Columbus smh. I think back to when I was at Ohio State when there was so much (deserved) excitement with Matta and players like Sully, Craft, Thomas, etc...the student section and fans were doing much better in terms of attendance and most, but it seems like that was short lived. Can't really blame anyone at this point though, there's a chance I might just go to the RPAC instead to lift and chase some Lulu Lemon wearing college girls (assuming we turn back the time).

But aside from that, glad to get a win at home. Who knows, maybe we can fart our way into the Tourney somehow. Even if it's a one and done, I see another NIT appearance being a near death sentence for Diebler's career here. Maybe this win gets us there if we can pull off an upset or two in the conference tourney.

Good resilience at the end to hang and and pull it out when they got it close again. Gonna need to clean up the sloppy starts down the stretch but they keep keeping themselves above water.
They only have like 2 guys that seem to under stand dribble or immediately pass forward to break the press don't sit holding the ball and let the trap come to you. And have been awful at getting good shots out of stall ball for years

Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

2 things have changed recently with this team that have ignited their confidence and overall play.
1. Obviously the Harder trade had been an Offensive spark and the whole roster had been affected.
2. The most significant in my opinion is that the play of the guys off the bench, Bryant and Tomlin, has lit a phenomenal fire in Jarrett Allen. Dude is playing angry and nowhere near the soft stuff we've seen from him in playoffs. If that continues there is a real Finals chance for this team.
Staying healthy has always been this teams issue but the bench just may finally be good enough to make it work.
It doesn’t hurt their entire strategy going into season was to treat the regular season at a different “level” so they’re fresher going into playoffs.

THAT is the biggest difference. It was an organizational decision to NOT prioritize winning the East. They decided being “healthy and fresh” was more important.
