John Henry Daley is going to be their big transfer portal addition. Problem is he's recovering from a Achilles injury and might not do much if anything at all in 2026
Au contraire. He can spend 2026 tossing his own salad.

Washington Huskies (official thread)

There is rumors of it being a big 10 standard contract. So at least they are doing it and if they are doing I would bet the SEC has something similiar see Georgia. If the 2 biggest players are doing it you have to play ball if you want to go to those schools.
The article linked talked about the BIG getting involved in the dispute.

Washington Huskies (official thread)

It's not some idealistic referendum on contracts.

It's the practical utility of what's to be gained by being positioned as the team that's going to restrict movement. Right, wrong or indifferent, in the marketplace that's not going be something that players and agents just gloss over.

It's something I'd make sure got handled privately if I am UW. You can still hold him to the contract but refusing to let him go into the portal just looks spiteful and, again, as a player looking at UW vs anyone else, you are now going to have to explain that and why would I as the player care that you "won" the argument and enforced your contract?

Pyrrhic victory if the rest of the market isn't doing the same thing.
