Week 1 Game Discussion Thread

Evidently, UC is getting 75% of the ticket revenue for agreeing to the move.

The game was initially scheduled to be played at Nippert in 2020, and rescheduled for 2025 due to covid. In October 2023, the game was moved to Lucas Oil Stadium. In December 2024, the game was moved again to Arrowhead Stadium.

It’s a real shame for the students/local businesses. It would have been a huge event in Clifton. UC students should demand their fees back. I’m guessing the impact on the local economy would have outweighed the extra revenue UC will realize from the move, but that’s not how businesses operate.
Random thought: I wonder if the fact Travis Kelce plays for KC had anything to do with moving the UC game to Arrowhead Stadium?

DL Jarquez Carter (Official Thread)

Some notes regarding Carter and recruiting from Birm Spencer:
Bringing this thread back because it's the best place to say when a player like Jarquez Carter flashes early, often and consistently it sheds some light on why Ohio State maybe wasn't willing to go into seven figures for a player like Deuce Geralds. There's not much difference in the two and Carter is putting himself into "must play, will play, will need major raise in December" territory and that was obvious over the summer for the powers that be.
It's also a reminder that the Ohio State scouting department is the best in the country at what it does because those folks saw Carter as a top-tier player and he was ranked outside the top 200 in the Rivals Industry Rank because ESPN and 247 did not even rank him. On3 had him at 169 overall. Rivals had him at 83
Which is why "pay this guy what he wants" is not the answer for every recruit. Ohio State knows what its doing!

2026 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

According to Wiltfong and some of the guys over on LR, OSU may now realize that they can offer competitive deals(I'll believe it when it happens). But just passing along the info:

Per Wiltfong:

Per Spencer Holbrook:

Per Birm:

I really hope this means that the CSC is clarifying and amending some of their initial rules. I know from watching several of Mark Pantoni's media appearances that they needed that clarity to move forward. For example, Pantoni complained about the initial CSC rule that all revenue sharing would be measured in a July 1 to June 30 cycle. That made roster management for football difficult because they had to hold back revenue sharing funds now to make sure that they had enough money for roster retention in the first six months of next year. He said that the CFB GM's more lobbying for a change for revenue sharing to be measured over a period corresponding to their season. If if the CSC is amending rules now that means we're closer to the final state of what college football will be at least for the short term.
