2028 NJ OL Eytan D’oleo (Verbal Offer)

Nobody can complain that the OL coach isn't going after size, or number of commitments. Would agree that giving mega-millions to an untested LOT out of HS is foolishness.
Yeah I'm perfectly good with Bowen's approach recruiting at OL. We're casting a wider net and not botching the national recruiting, but I do hope we start doing better at getting worthwhile OL portal targets. Really like this offer, hopefully the offer puts us in the thick of his recruitment.

2027 CA QB Brady Edmunds is a Buckeye!!!

Was hoping that was the case. And it seems fair that if one keeps looking, the other might/should as well. Farther it goes, the higher the NIL might get? And since Edmunds committed way long ago, might have settled on a lower NIL number. Really cannot not speak as to how an early commitment might handle NIL. "If your ranking goes higher, we'll up your money?", or somesuch. But can see UCLA coming in over the top to get him, so will test his commitment even more, especially if tOSU goes with another higher ranked QB as a recruit. Too many variables for my poor mind....
I think OSU is one of the few schools that won't be held up because a recruit wants more money. I think Jeremiah was a 1 of 1 who could've done that, and even then they stopped at a certain amount, and told him take it or leave it essentially. Because its well known that Miami offered more than OSU. Edmunds is in no way at his level, and depending on how he does at the Elite 11, could see a slight drop. The 2027 QB class just isn't very good at the moment, and with the Portal, a team like OSU can find a starter every year they want similar to Miami or IU. So the leverage is no longer with the HS recruits.

Deciding When to Retire

Wife just retired on 5/1 and I can go any time I want. Both 55. I really don't know why I'm sticking around other than to pay cash for some remodeling work... but that is just because I want to put a nice bow on this new place so that when I check out those upgrades are paid in cash and I can walk away owing nothing to anyone.

'25 OH SG Dorian Jones (Rutgers signee, transfer to Kent St.)

Believe it's been said that one has to get on the court to impress. And the decision is to sit on the pine at a great school, or play more minutes at a lesser school. It's a decision I never had to make ;(....academic rigor at Kent St poses less of a hurdle, and on court competition probably less as well. But is it better to be a big frog in a small pond, or a small frog in the big pond? I'll let you decide, grasshopper.....

DE Mike Vrabel (All B1G, All American, All Pro, Super Bowl Champ, NFL HC of Year, HC New England Patriots)

Pretty interesting considering that she’s slightly above average looking. Certainly not someone I’d risk a marriage over.

Sock would still eat that ass with steak sauce. A1 please. Sock gives 0 fucks when it comes to slinging dick.

Sock is baaaaad.

Sock out!

Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 20 Straight B1G Titles)

Sounds like a stud get. That's for next year though (?). Anyway, sounds like the Buckeyes are peaking at proper time. Bottom part of roster is winning, hopefully enough to pick up if top few stumble a bit. Kinda think that the doubles point (usually a given W), is up in the air at times. Not entirely certain, as our top singles guys man the doubles teams....All I really know is what I read here, so if I've not connected the dots correctly, would hope that someone would put things in proper perspective. All in all, envision a top four placement, and with a little luck on the spin, maybe bring home the trophy this year. Seems the only thing not on Ty's resume....

Deciding When to Retire

Retirement and when to start SS are much different questions

SS involves 2 questions.. 1) what will your non-SS income be because it doesn't take much (even with Trump's new tax rules) that you could end up paying a bunch of SS rev back in taxes... every year you delay past SS qualifying age gives you an 8% bump in SS revenue.. 2) what are your chances of living till 84.. that's about the breakeven age when it becomes much more beneficial to wait till you're 70 to start w SS payments.. you win the 'bet' after turning 84

Medicare is a a different issue.. for most, it will be the best medical plan you may have ever had..

Can't give advice about retirement cuz I 'm pretty sure I will retire and die the same day.. but I am a believer that you need to stay busy post retirement.. else you shut it down and the grim reaper comes earlier.. doesn't mean staying at your job.. means staying busy.. even volunteer work

Deciding When to Retire

Do it as just as soon as the numbers make sense. We only get so many years on this planet. Life is about doing what matters to you, not sitting in an office dealing with dumb corporate bullshit.

I’ve seen too many clients retire and die just a few years later. Or get sick and can’t enjoy the years they have left. Or their spouse needs to be taken care of.

If you have 20 years left, do you really want to spend 5-10-15% of that time doing something that you don’t enjoy?

Deciding When to Retire

I’m right there trying to decide. I’m so tired of the corporate bullshit, but even more so, I’m just tired of the daily stupidity I deal with. Clients and associates alike.

A year and a few months to 65. Add an additional 2 years to that for SS full retirement. Wife is already retired.
I had planned on waiting until 65, but now I am thinking take SS at 62 and give myself an 3 extra years of the healthiest retirement time I will have. I feel like I'm at the point where enjoying the time I have left is more important to me than padding my retirement account. I'd pull the plug earlier, but I doubt my wife would be okay with it and I want buy-in from her.
