Game Thread #1 Texas at #2/#3 tOSU, Sat. Aug. 30th, 12pm ET, FOX

No doubt the point spread swing for this game will be talked about throughout Columbus, including in the Ohio State locker room, and you're going to see this team infuriated by that as an "us [Ohio] against the world" thing that makes the whole stadium and the team come out foaming at the mouth tomorrow.

If I'm a Texas fan the last thing in the world I want is to have the defending champion Ohio State Buckeyes generate a very strong rallying cry in the last 24 hours preceding the game.

Texas Overtaking Ohio State As Betting Favorite

It seems a lot of money is pouring in on Texas to defeat Ohio State tomorrow.

The No. 3 Buckeyes opened as a 3-point favorite to defeat the No. 1 Longhorns at home. But that line has continued dipping as the days passed, and now, as kickoff is less than 24 hours away, Texas is favored by most of the biggest oddsmakers.

DraftKings now favors Texas by 1.5 points. FanDuel has taken the same line, as has ESPNBet.

Lee Corso’s Final Headgear Pick Will Be “Different Than Anything We’ve Ever Done” As College GameDay Pays Tribute to Retiring Analyst

157562_h.jpg

Rece Davis doesn‘t know who Lee Corso will pick on Saturday, but he does know Corso’s final headgear pick will be unique.

In the words of College GameDay’s host, Corso’s headgear pick before Saturday’s Ohio State vs. Texas game at Ohio Stadium – his 431st and final headgear pick before he retires after Saturday’s show – will be “different than anything we’ve ever done.”

While Davis didn’t say exactly how it would be different, Corso’s final headgear pick will take place inside the Shoe, and Davis thanked Ryan Day and Ohio State for accommodating College GameDay to allow them to make the moment special for their 90-year-old longtime analyst, who’s been a staple of GameDay since its inception in 1987.

“Our gratitude to Ohio State and the administration and the athletic department, Ryan and the whole football program, for the way they have adapted a really important day for them to let us and let LC be part of that is really cool,” Davis told a group of reporters on Friday. “And the headgear pick, it'll be number 431 and it'll be one of one. It'll be different from any other one you've ever seen. I don't know who he's picking, but I know the actual structure of it will be different than anything we've ever done.”

Yard is freshly cut, the weather is a crisp 61 degrees. Prepping the Blackstone for tomorrow morning. As always, wherever we are, our hearts will be in C'bus.

Excited to start another chapter with all my Buckeye brothers and sisters.

I hate to give the weasels any credit, ever, but they had a point about a few of our squads. There was some softness, but not lately and I don't see that at all with 2025, players or coaches. They don't seem lost because leaders left. They have stepped up as leaders. I'm not at all worried about this group against Texas to open and I'm not sure there's been another year's team where I wouldn't have had some uncertainty with a game like this, especially to start the season.

QB1 Julian Sayin (National Champion)

I feel like we will know how the season is going to go after Saturday's game. Right now I have no idea if Just is going to be the next coming of CJ or Tate/Bauserman/Boeckman.
We may not have known until we did, but I'd be surprised if anyone in the Woody thought they had more than we got out of Tate, Bauserman, or Boeckman before their first real minutes.
