The Buckeyes will welcome a four-star Alabama running back commit on an official visit.
Ohio State is now 5-1 following the team’s first loss of the season. The Buckeyes came up short in Oregon, falling 32-31 in heartbreaking fashion in what is becoming an all-too-familiar feeling in Columbus.
All eyes were on the Ohio State versus Oregon game Saturday, including recruits that were able to take in the game in-person and those that were not. The Buckeyes may not have been victorious, and there are obvious, glaring weak points that need fixed, but the team still had an impressive showing in a difficult environment.
Many of the recruiting storylines to follow Saturday night’s game will be about Oregon, but the Buckeyes will still make headlines daily, and this held true Monday. In case you missed the Buckeyes making recruiting headlines to start the week,
Land-Grant Holy Land has you covered.
Ohio State to officially host Alabama four-star RB commit
Ohio State’s 2025 recruiting class is mostly complete and the focus is already shifting towards next year’s class. However, the Buckeyes are still looking to add a few more recruits to finish the class off and one of those positions is running back.
The Buckeyes already hold commitments from two running backs in the class with four-star backs
Bo Jackson and
Isaiah West. The duo is already an impressive haul and the Buckeyes may not be done. 2025 four-star running back and Alabama commit
Anthony Rogers (Montgomery, AL / Carver) is reportedly set to take an official visit to Ohio State later this month when the Buckeyes host Nebraska.
Rogers committed to Alabama in June of 2023, but has not completely shut his recruitment down. The Buckeyes officially threw their names in the hat and offered him in April of this year. The team is not alone in trying to flip him, as Auburn and Georgia have both hosted him on visits recently.
Hometown team Alabama has to remain the favorites in this one, but Rogers is doing his due diligence to make sure he makes the best decision for him, and the Buckeyes may be able to change his mind. That being said, this would be one of the bigger recruiting wins for Ryan Day and Ohio State recent memory if he were to flip.
Rogers is the No. 6 running back in the 247Sports Composite Rankings and is the No. 118 overall prospect. He is also the No. 9 recruit from Alabama.
Quick Hits
- Ohio State is not the only school trying to flip recruits, and they are not immune to other schools trying to flip its commits. Ohio State 2025 five-star cornerback commit Na’eemm Offord (Birmingham, AL / Parker) is also doing his due diligence, and took an official visit to Oregon Saturday and watched the school he is committed to lose in a close game.
Oregon has been making Offord feel like a priority recruit as of late, and this last weekend certainly did not help Ohio State feel better about this.
Five-Star CB Na’eem Offord on his Game Day visit to Oregon:
“Just seen 2 of the BEST TEAMS in college football go head to head, and this won’t be the last time”
The Ohio State commit added “it was one of the loudest games ever & the best visit so far.”

- Ohio State is not only making recruiting headlines on the gridiron, as Jake Diebler and the Ohio State men’s basketball team is also making headlines of their own. 2025 four-star guard Isaiah Denis (Davidson, NC / Davidson Day) recently met with the Ohio State basketball team.
However, the Buckeyes were not alone, as hometown schools UNC and Wake Forest also met with him. Denis is the No. 9 combo guard in the 247Sports Composite Rankings and the No. 62 overall prospect. He is also the No. 2 recruit out of North Carolina.
