Cincinnati Reds (2025 is our year! Haha thats actually funny)

Apparently the Reds pitching staff was what the Red Sox needed. 15 runs in 10 innings so far

People noticed back in the cold ass spring that the staff had the lowest GB% in MLB at one point. Once it got hot outside, a lot of those weren't going to stay in the yard, offense might get better but pitching will regress a bit...stuff like that.

This is a .500 team. They aren't going to get anymore than 3-4 games above or below that mark.

Honest question. Do you guys think this would be the end of CFB or minor league NFL? Will people care about the Columbus Buckeyes or Tuscaloosa Tide?

Use a license deal and the name of the team, the colors, stadium and anything else you can think of stays exactly the same.

I could set up Columbus pro sports ventures LLC tomorrow. Enter into a licensing agreement with OSU the University to pay them for the use of their Name, Ohio Stadium, trademarks etc.

The players now work for me as employees of my LLC, I operate to the world as the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Your viewing pleasure is uninterrupted.

I just don’t see Hartline calling as bad of a gameplan as they did in The Game in ‘24. It’s not like scUM did anything to beat OSU, OSU did everything imaginable to lose the game. When Day is relaxed and let’s his OC utilize their weapons, than… well we all saw how the playoffs went.

It’s not a talent gap. It’s a system gap. It’s not like they have a boatload of college athletes they pump out.

And a D7 school playing a D1 school isn’t fair nor safe.
Sorry, I meant scheme more so than talent. And I was exaggerating about playing a D1 team. But it’s no Longer even competitive in D7. And they have played teams in 6 and 5 yearly and also beat them, so why would it be a big deal to move them up at some point. Or have more consistent games against better competition. It also happens in basketball too where teams in lower divisions will play up. Idk how it’s safe beating teams by 5-6tds weekly. Throw in a D4 or D3 school on the schedule, it might actually be competitive. Or maybe they beat them also by 5tds

I think it's more about accepting that they have always been, in reality, the Columbus Buckeyes or the Tuscaloosa Tide.

Not saying that transition would or wouldn't involve a loss of viewership, I can't say for sure, but I think that's the only reason it's getting dragged out so much. An immediate change might be too much for some people.

That being said, I don't think any OSU fans are gonna tune out of the scUM game because of it. People will always be attracted to to good football, at least to a certain extent. It's definitely better than trying to start a minor league from scratch.

We are so far down this road, there is no going back. Just merge the B1G and SEC teams AFL/NFL style and make a league that always just plays each other.

Stop the charade of “academics” as well.

It makes me sick.

We're the only country that mixes academics and athletics. It's stupid and makes both less efficient.

Because there’s an obvious massive talent gap between them and their opponents. And it happens all the time anyway, it wouldn’t be a big deal for them to travel to the Dayton area and play Wayne, Springfield, Centerfield or CJ. I believe CHCA did that in Cincinnati when they were getting so dominant over the Division 6 teams.

2026 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

And it’s being openly used as a recruiting tool after talking with a number of parents of kids heading to lower tier schools. I know at least a dozen parents whose kids are heading to G5(is that still the term) schools. And every coach has told them and their kid that going to a lower tier school could help them get to a bigger school. Put some actual game tape up at a school like Tiffin and you could get to Akron, play great at Akron and you could end up at the B1G. Heck if a kid can make a transfer from UT- Martin to BC or NC State, they would’ve earned a big bump in NIL

Yep, it's all about moving up. School loyalty for the most part is non existent anymore, especially at the lower levels. You can't really blame these kids either, coaches have always been allowed to move up as they want if they were good enough and now it's the players time to do the same.

I think a good % of guys who perform well enough at lower schools are definitely going to look to upgrade to greener pastures every year. It's already been happening and it isn't stopping.
