They used to ask me why basic training was so easy for me. They never knew this guy or my mother.

He is where I learned that the phrase “some days you eat the bear and some days the bear eats you” when I was maybe 16. They ran us all up and down a hill all goddamned day to make guys quit and said that at the end of practice. he was implying that today was an easy day and tomorrow would be worse.

A bunch of dudes never showed back up, I did but was scared shitless. I quickly learned he never ran us that hard again. He was just seeing who would quit.

I went forth a wiser man. :lol:

It also remains to be seen if, in this new era, OSU is going to accept allowing walk-ons take spots that they could devote to scholarship players. Noel was not the type of player I was expecting OSU to add necessarily - to me, he's kind of like a Gabe Cupps, in the sense that he's a guy they are adding for depth who will keep the team in the game when they have to go to the bench. I still feel like this team is lacking top-tier strength and power in the post, and I'm not sure if they are going to get it.

You know those depressing ass pet rescue commercials they run during the holidays where they just show horrifically sad dog after dog?

Am I the only one who gets that same feeling like it’s just too depressing to handle, I’d like to save them all somehow and the world just doesn’t have to be this cruel to innocent creatures when the camera pans the Reds crowd and show all the kids with hope on their faces?

What kind of sick bastard does that to a kid?

So this team has a strong to very good starting rotation that includes a true ace in Greene.

The bullpen is good and can get even better from internal guys.

They have a strong up the middle group of position guys in Stephenson, Elly, McClain and Friedle (when healthy). They can all hit and field.

Most organizations can be a playoff contender with that much going for them.

We also have a future HOF manager.

I think it speaks to just how god-awful the corners and DH spots are. I mean sweet blue titty fucking baby Jesus bad.
