Look Who's Transferring Now (The Portal)

They used NIL deal of $7.5mil to get him to return to school. NIL can’t be used to induce players to go to any school. It’d be no different than OSU saying they’d offer him $7.5mil to come to Columbus. Tampering is tampering. If they let him make his own decision to stay in school then that’s different, but they clearly offered him at a time when he was considering declaring
then pretty much anyone considering going pro that comes back is being induced by an NIL or rev share deal...

I'm not sure how you can cheat bringing your own player back. You can't tamper with your own player.

2025-2026 Ohio State Men's Basketball

Re: Johnson has been enrolled in classes at Ohio State since July, but has not been practicing with the team. It’s unclear when Johnson will join the Buckeyes, who play UCLA at home at 1 p.m. Saturday (CBS).
Johnson played for North Carolina for three seasons from 2020-23 before transferring to Penn State for two seasons. In 17 games at Penn State last season, Johnson averaged 10.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game.

Just sayin': Yeah, I agree. I doubt that he plays against UCLA tomorrow.....
He might never play for OSU. Apparently his eligibility could end when the next court hearing happens, January 30th. They must have him on the rocket docket.

Look Who's Transferring Now (The Portal)

And Mensah has now officially entered the portal.

One of the more completely obvious cases of tampering you will ever see......yet nothing will be done about it.

Just ditch any rules at this point if none of them are actually going to be enforced.
The rules have been ditched. Its just that OSU has the only AD still operating Iike there are rules.
And also Oregon blatantly cheated with bringing Moore back as well

2025-2026 Ohio State Men's Basketball

Very unexpected. I suppose the idea that he relied on inaccurate medical advice at PSU last year and would have had another full season but for that bad advice (presumably from a university authority figure) made a difference. It is difficult to join a team mid-season and make an impact, I wouldn't expect much for a few weeks.

S Cody Haddad (transfer to Iowa)

Ohio State Safety Cody Haddad Enters Transfer Portal After One Year with Buckeyes

Haddad is a three-star prospect from St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland. He was considered the No. 523 overall recruit and No. 45 safety in the class of 2025 by the 247Sports composite rankings. He never played a snap for Ohio State as a freshman, taking a redshirt year.

There was no clear path to playing time for Haddad in the near future, either.
The Buckeyes added two safeties through the transfer portal to start alongside Jaylen McClain in 2026: Terry Moore (Duke) and Earl Little Jr. (Florida State). Rising redshirt sophomore Leroy Roker III saw use in dime packages for Ohio State in 2025 and projects to be first off the bench in 2026. Redshirt freshman Deshawn Stewart is a higher-rated prospect from Haddad's class.

Just sayin': I'm guessing that he got into the transfer portal 100% for playing time and 0% for more NIL money. Hopefully some other (i.e. probably lower level) school offers him a scholarship and he gets what he wants, etc. I wish him a lot of luck.

MLB General Discussion (Official Thread)

The Mets, of course. This was the guy I zeroed in on for the Reds to snag for $20M and let Elly play the outfield, in hopes of making a real run at maybe 2nd place in the Central Division. LOL, I am so very naive. Getting real hard to be a fan.

Shit Elly is a better shortstop than Bo Bitchtits ever thought about being.

He would have been a nice bat in the order, but he's increasingly becoming a liability at shortstop defensively and it's entirely likely his best season offensively has already happened.

$42 million per year for that is insane. And he's not going to play short with the Mets - Lindor is light years better. So on top of probably already seeing his best offensive year, he's going to have to switch positions too.

Guys like Ripken and ARod would make 60+ million per year in this era

Ole Miss Rebels (official thread)

Other then kids like jeremiah smith probably. Everyone on the team knows he that's dude. It's when younbg kids are makin more then 2nd stringers or fringe starters and they are like I'm better than x it's an issue

But it's also going to work itself out when the NIL marked stabilizes as opposed to jumping 50-100% every year
It helps that JS also works harder than anyone in practice and seems to be a humble, solid teammate.
