2026 tOSU Offense Discussion

Disagree. Anybody can draw up fancy plays on the chalkboard. But you have to call plays that suit your personnel. Yeah, the o line wasn't great but it's not like they were non-functional. They weren't the only team in the country that had to work around some o line issues. Going into the Miami game against that d-line depending on long-developing deep shots was dumb
Disagree.

Miami's entire defensive philosophy in that game was to take away the short and intermediate stuff that Sayin excelled at. The screen that returned for a Pick-6 fit into what they were trying to do. Short of Sayin turning into a bit more of a runner, taking the top off the defense early on was the right idea in my IMO.

Given the run game issues that were apparent all year long, the only thing that prevented Ohio State from running away with that game was Miami's defensive line breaking down the pass protection as illustrated in the videos above.

The plays were there. If the execution matched the scheme Ohio State rolls. Once Ohio State got behind they had to throw it a ton more than I think they truly wanted to as part of the overall scheme.

If you really want to criticize something from that game, the tempo has to be much faster. Miami's depth should have been tested more than it was.

Either way, I think we both agree the offensive line has to take a step forward this year for this team to be a success. Living on last year's laurels will get them not where they need to be.

SG Mark "The Shark" Titus (Official Thread)

His point makes no sense. Yes, Ohio State fans care more about football. Duh. But Ohio State fans aren't asking for and don't expect the basketball program to be Duke or Kansas. They just think it's ridiculous for the program to be like the 8th best team in the conference, which it is currently
Titus goes overboard on the critique, and it's silly to be mad at the fans. Yeah, there are a lot of idiot fans, but everyone has idiot fans online. You have to remember with social media/Barstool, their job is to get attention. That being said, I think it's completely legitimate to question the support Diebler has gotten from the university and with NIL. I am a believer that OSU has not had the right approach to the transfer portal in men's basketball and it has really hurt the team the last two years at least & it's been a combination of scouting/evaluation misses and not having funds to land the best transfers. Hopefully the planned addition of a GM can make a difference, but obviously they need a new approach to the transfer portal.

2026 tOSU Offense Discussion

Not particularly - especially the Cryami game. Execution matters.

To expand on the point - Ohio State is best when it's efficiency is excellent. I'd be willing to bet that their efficiency dropped off a cliff post-TCUN game. Part of what was Indiana was a team of destiny and Cryami played at a high level, but a lot of efficiency comes from goo execution, and the offense was not very crisp at all in either game. You can only scheme or try to out-scheme the other team so much - the kids have to execute the plays that are called or else it doesn't matter much.

2026 NCAA Tournament General Discussion

My goodness, UM just keeps getting luckier if this result holds. They started the tournament with one of the highest seeds in the region, Texas Tech, missing their best player due to injury. Then #4 seed Alabama's #2 scorer & top 3-point shooter gets busted for dealing pot & off the team. Now #2 seed Iowa State's best player injures his ankle in the first game, opening the door for #7 seed Kentucky to knock them off potentially.

Dials played 132 games, spanning parts of five seasons with the Buckeyes. During that stellar college college career, Dials totaled more than 1,500 points and ranks fifth in school history with 876 rebounds. In 2004-05, the 6-9 Dials averaged a career-high 15.9 points with 7.9 rebounds. Then in his final campaign of 2005-06, Dials won Big Ten Player of the Year for averaging 15.3 points, on 57.4-percent shooting, and a career-best 8.0 rebounds. His 55.8 career field-goal percentage also ranks among the best in Ohio State history.
I thought it says "may have forgotten"? Who would forget Dials??

#8 Ohio State vs #9 TCU, Thursday March 19, 1215pm ET, CBS

Back to Titus. I'm a put your money where your mouth is kind of guy. Titus was bitching tOSU basketball doesn't get enough NIL money. My question to him would be how much has he given? I think it's kind of unAmerican to decide where other people should spend their money, especially if you haven't put your own money there. Who do they think they are, Congress? But then again, maybe that's just me.

Now get off my lawn!

Michigan Spent More on Sherrone Moore & Wolverines’ Culture Probe Than Ex-HC’s Salary: Report

7906e5d2b55aa7bf70b9a6d88e02b045

When Michigan moved on from Jim Harbaugh and handed Sherrone Moore the keys, the program expected stability, not a scandalous fallout. Now, the school’s growing bill for the culture probe tied to Moore’s ouster has already topped what Michigan paid him, turning a coaching change into an expensive institutional mess.

“Breaking: Michigan spent another $4 million on its ongoing investigation into circumstances prompting ex-football coach Sherrone Moore’s ouster and the broader culture of the athletic department, new records show,” reported Dave Boucher, an investigative reporter with the Detroit Free Press. “Total spend is now more than $6 million.”

It’s a bitter financial irony for the Wolverines. Jenner and Block’s sweeping investigation racked up a $6 million tab, easily eclipsing the roughly $5.6 million Michigan actually paid Moore for his lone season at the helm. They managed to avoid the buyout. But the legal receipts are catching up.

According to the reports, it’s expected to grow even more. They handed the responsibility of carrying out the investigation to an outside law firm, Jenner & Block. The financial toll became clear in January when the university received two invoices from the firm totaling over $4 million for that month alone. The University of Michigan produced the invoices after a request was made under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act.

Very little is known about the investigation process from the invoices. However, it is assured that a pricey external inquiry is indeed brewing in Ann Arbor. Back in December, Michigan took the tough call of dismissing Moore from the head coaching position amid allegations of an improper relationship with a female staffer.

Falling outside both contract terms and university policy, it pushed Michigan to take steps to fire him for cause. According to USA TODAY Network, Moore was supposed to make $510,000 in base salary and $5.1 million in “additional compensation” this year. Meanwhile, the university owed $13.9 million if it fired him without cause.

Firing Sherrone Moore for cause voided a massive $13.9 million buyout, initially looking like a clean financial break. Instead, the messy fallout and expanding departmental probe mean those anticipated savings are rapidly bleeding into unreasonably high hourly attorney fees.

“Make no mistake, we will leave no stone unturned. And any further actions we take will be based on credible evidence and findings developed through a rigorous investigation,” said Domenico Grasso, Michigan President.

Paige Shiver, the woman identified to have been in an inappropriate affair with Moore, was his executive assistant. Apparently, she told Michigan about the affair just two days before Moore was demoted. After the firing order came, the ex-head coach allegedly went to her apartment and threatened to kill himself in front of her. However, the investigation is not just about Moore. Even though the university has not spilled any more information, there are others who are tangled in this investigation process.

The most prominent person under scrutiny is Athletic Director Warde Manuel. He has faced intense criticism following a series of high-profile scandals, leadership failures, and administrative controversies that peaked in late 2025 and early 2026. Critics, including fans and national media, have frequently pointed to a toxic culture within the athletic department under his ten-year tenure.

The primary criticism against Manuel is a perceived lack of accountability and oversight regarding repeated staff misconduct. Former assistant coach Chris Partridge filed a lawsuit against Manuel in March 2026, alleging he was made a “scapegoat” during the 2023 sign-stealing investigation. A 2022 report detailed a toxic and retaliatory culture in the men’s hockey program under Mel Pearson, whom Manuel was alleged for defending for a period of time. Manuel was criticized for firing Moore just before the Citrus Bowl despite allegedly being aware of his conduct, a move many felt maximized damage to the program.

It is not just the AD in focus though. In February, a Washtenaw County court granted a woman a personal protection order against LaTroy Lewis, who served as Michigan’s assistant football coach from 2022 to 2024. Lewis’s attorney has pushed back on the claims, even as the Ann Arbor Police Department says he is the focus of an ongoing investigation. And as the legal bill grows for the Michigan Wolverines, Moore has pleaded to settle his own case.

Ex-Michigan Wolverines’ head coach Sherrone Moore’s plea deal

On March 6, Moore reportedly reached a plea agreement, trading a no-contest plea to two new misdemeanors for the dismissal of a felony and two other charges.

“All the [initial] charges against Mr. Moore were not supported by facts of law,” Ellen Michaels, Moore’s attorney, said. “The dismissal of those charges validates the concerns we raised about the investigation from the very beginning.”

However, Judge J. Cedric Simpson denied the attorney’s request to remove the electronic tether requirement from the ex-Michigan head coach’s bond. Moore’s fate will be decided on April 14 in Washtenaw County Court. He is likely to face a possible sentence of up to one year in prison.

But his attorneys are expecting Moore to come out clean without serving any prison term, and NFL legend and Auburn alum Cam Newton dropped a similar take on the ex-Michigan head coach

“We live in a day and age where you are guilty until proven innocent. Not innocent until proven guilty,” Newton kept things straight that everything will depend on the final verdict.

And even if found non-guilty, he believes Moore will not find a new job in the next year until “that stench kind of air out a little bit.” Time to find out whether Michigan’s $6 million-and-climbing investigation uncovers more troubles for Moore.

Re: Moore’s fate will be decided on April 14 in Washtenaw County Court. He is likely to face a possible sentence of up to one year in prison.

Just sayin': We can only hope....:boogie:
