Cleveland Guardians (2026 Season Thread)

Awful offensive team…..multiple chances to win in extra innings and just couldn’t play small-ball to get win. Terrible at bats, including awful job of getting bunt down. It’s rough when you have very limited power, and on top of that you don’t have guys who can make contact.

I rarely question Vogt but felt like Gavin easily could’ve pitched the 8th. Could just sense Gaddis was going to give the game up….and he did.

NOBODY on this team can consistently execute a bunt properly. For a fucking MLB roster that seems insane.

Cleveland Guardians (2026 Season Thread)

Guardians are somehow only 1.5 games back in the Central with their recent abysmal performance. I can’t see them doing more than minor tweaks at the trade deadline. I wouldn’t be surprised if they plan to mostly stay put through this season and until the labor issues are figured out.

I don't think the market this deadline is going to be that great. I'd rather not give up higher end prospects for what will likely amount to a rather meh return for them. There's not much they can realistically do anyways to take themselves from being early round fodder to actual contenders when it comes to the playoffs if they can make it there.

Gavin Williams last 2 starts. 14 IP 5 H 2 ER 23K/1BB

He only got 1 run in support though and took a no decision and a loss

I'd be screaming for a trade if I were him.

QB1 Julian Sayin (All B1G, B1G Frosh of Year, All American, National Frosh of Year, National Champion)

also his head fake game is seriously lacking.

Not even one beanie flying off his head while juking a cone.

We're in trouble
I feel I need to see the clip from the TCUN QB recruit years ago who was leveled at the high school all star game.

While living in Texas, worked with a guy from A&M, and when he spoke about 'the Corps' he did so in reverent tones. He readily admitted he was not a part of it, but that it was ingrained into each and every Aggie. The 'twelfth man' was also sacred. As college traditions, he pooh-poohed Script Ohio, Archie, and Victory Bell. We early on decided not to discuss college football team stuff.
With all due respect, there's only 1 Corps. That guy and the rest of them can go fuck themselves.

My bad, still luv ya Cali. :wink2:

Notre Dame (football only discussion)

Bonus footage! Gardner got sacked on the play before the pick 6!

Apologies for linking a ND account video.....it's the only video of that play I could find.

Re: TRENDING: Julian Sayin making it LOOK EASY using an NFL ball in recent workouts.

NFL footballs are slightly larger, heavier, and shaped differently than college footballs,
featuring a wider nose and no white stripes.

Size and Dimensions
    • NFL Ball Length: 11 to 11.25 inches
    • College Ball Length: 10.7/8 to 11.7/16 inches (can feel slightly shorter or rounder)
    • Long Circumference: 28 to 28.5 inches for both, though some college balls can taper down to 27 inches depending on the maker
    • Short Circumference: 21 to 21.25 inches for both
    • Weight: 14 to 15 ounces for both
Just sayin': I've always thought that the NCAA should just use the NFL ball. The NCAA should make the transition to the NFL as easy as possible. I'm guessing that the specific ball used by each all comes down to the money.
Yeah I always wanted CFB rules closer to NFL. Like make the WR catch rules with 2 instead 1 foot for example.

WR Jeremiah Smith (All B1G, B1G Freshman of Year, B1G WR of Year, Unanimous All-American, 2025 Rose Bowl Off MVP, National Champion)

You can’t make him but it seems wildly inconsistent with the “prepares like a pro” narrative we’ve heard from day one.

I am not doubting that he prepares well and is mature beyond his years in approach. Just noting the oddness of finding out he never uses the recovery room. It’s just a little bizarre
I honestly could see many young stars at schools around the country who don't utilize amenities like this, because they grew up not having them and just don't think about them. I remember countless stories of NFL and NBA rookies who had no clue about proper nutrition and were still eating McDonalds and Popeyes before and after games.

Headlines You Don't See Every Day (outside of Florida)

BATON ROUGE — A man is wanted in Baton Rouge for allegedly towing away vehicles and selling them to scrapyards using fraudulent papers.

According to an arrest warrant, a man called police when his truck went missing while it was parked along Keokuk Street in June.

While investigating, an officer searched records at a local scrapyard and found that Matthew Dunn, 35, took the truck there and sold it, the warrant says.

Dunn allegedly provided a bill of sale that fraudulently listed "Kevin King," who police do not believe is a real person, as the seller and himself as the buyer.

According to arrest records, Dunn allegedly pulled similar schemes on four other occasions, starting in May.

Documents show Dunn has spent years legally scrapping vehicles for a living, and even "[demonstrated] his familiarity with the process of transferring vehicles to scrap yards and completing the required ownership documentation."

According to court records, Dunn faces four counts each of theft of a motor vehicle, filing false public records and forgery, as well as one count of simple burglary.
