Game Thread #1 Texas at #2/#3 tOSU, Sat. Aug. 30th, 12pm ET, FOX

Nice reasoning. Well, yeah, tOSU's WR room has more and better talent than most(all?) teams DBs. See where many are projecting Tate to have a monster year, well, that's because DB1 & DB3 will be doubling JJ, and DB2 on Carnell. That leaves DB4 on Inness coming underneath, which will be a huge mismatch, and Klare on a hesitation route mid-deep across the middle, and would/will be some huge gainers. Also agree that our OL will give the QB time to make the throws. Sour grapes, but do wish there would have been a body bag game or two before this monster game right out of the box....Go Bucks!

2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments - NCAA: no wins taken away, no postseason ban

Saw some chatter from scUM fans that appears to have been picked up by their smaller media outlets (By smaller outlets, I mean their podcast bros) that what Stallions did, sending people to multiple games to film, could have just been done by him watching the CFB all-22.

So all they really did was just circumvent the tedious time constraints.

I have large files on my desktop with multiple games per season, per team, dating back to 2016 with all-22 games.

I might get lucky enough if the camera flashes over to the scoreboard for down and distance, to catch a glimpse of a hand wave. That's about it. No where near enough to build a comprehensive database of reliable signals.

I don't have a personal Twitter, so if anyone's sees that sort of stupidity in their digital journey; just tell them "absolutely fucking not" and let me know if you need a screenshot or two as backup.
I find that sticking a gun in the teller's face and asking for money circumvents the tedious time constraints of having to deposit money in the bank before taking it out.

There isn't enough data in the world to "win" an argument on the internet.

People are going to believe what they want to believe.

I focus on asking myself why I would care what they say think or feel in the first place. The answer is usually a pretty quick "I don't" and get on with my real life.

Agreed. But I know there are types that have the time and live for these sorts of things. I'm just offering ammo to the Buckeyes who do.

The all-22 bullshit has been out there from the beginning. Dumb fuckers clinging to anything that makes them believe in their superiority.

QB Art Schlichter (sad)

I wonder if there are any synergistic effects with CTE-type injuries and OSL?
Busy day. Cheated and asked Gemini...

While a direct causal link between a high optimum stimulation level (OSL) or sensation-seeking disposition and the development of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) has not been established, research points to an indirect relationship.

Here's a breakdown of the key connections:

  • Sensation-seeking and risky behaviors: Sensation-seeking is a personality trait characterized by the pursuit of novel, varied, and intense experiences, often with a willingness to take physical and social risks.

  • Participation in high-impact activities: Individuals with a higher sensation-seeking disposition are more likely to participate in risky activities and contact sports, such as football, boxing, and rugby. These activities are the primary risk factor for repetitive head impacts (RHI), which are the known cause of CTE.
  • Concussion reporting and care: Research has found that athletes with a higher sensation-seeking disposition are less likely to report concussion symptoms or seek appropriate medical care. This can lead to a longer clinical recovery and increase the risk of subsequent head injuries, which is a significant factor in the development of CTE.
In summary, a high optimum stimulation level/sensation-seeking disposition is not a direct cause of CTE. Rather, it is a personality trait that may predispose an individual to behaviors and choices (like participating in high-contact sports and underreporting injuries) that increase their risk of repetitive head impacts, the underlying cause of CTE.
