Cleveland Browns (Factory of Sadness)

What’s even funnier is the fact that the Browns had Minter pegged as “one of their finalists.”

Cleveland talk radio hosts are having a field day with that notion with nearly unanimous agreement that as soon as the Baltimore job opened up and Minter interviewed, that he was the odds on favorite and a shoe in for the position and had zero legitimate interest as being the Browns head coach.

What. A. Shit. Show.

Ohio State Women's Basketball (2023-24 B1G CHAMPS)

Jesus Mary and Joseph, coach fix that side of the arc please. Indiana is 9 of 13 from 3 which is better than any pro team you are ever going to watch for a half. Sometimes you tip your cap but I'm looking at disturbing trends here again. They do have more people with 2 fouls and that could come into play later on but right now everyone on their Offense is on fire.

Indiana leads 42-32 at the half. Look at this shooting:
2pts 3pts FT
16-24 9-13 1-1
We are shooting ok, not great. 41%, 27% and 75%. Surely they can't keep that up for a whole game. I hope

Ohio State Women's Basketball (2023-24 B1G CHAMPS)

Weathered the early storm and back in it 21-24 in the 2nd Quarter. They went at Elsa and Jaloni early and they both have 2 fouls which isnt' great and they are shooting 60% from 3 early on so the Defense needs to get rolling earlier than the 3rd and 4th quarters like last game.

Indiana doesn't have that superstar this year but man are they balanced. Their entire team seems to have made a play so far and the scoring is super balanced. This is going to either be a late blow out by us or a nail biter all the way to the end and it depends on that Scarlet wave and when it gets going.

Jordan Seaton (OL Colorado, transfer to LSU)

Hey Jordan, have a Seat on Ze bench, before we give you to ze Germans.

What a fiasco for someone who we're going to embarass when our Dline gets hold of him if he goes to Oregon. Ryan Day's approach to the portal caused me some heartburn at the beginning this year but I am 100 percent behind him not ponying up for this kind of shit. Now just get our Oline a bit more prepared and pissed off for teams coming for the crown.

Look Who's Transferring Now (The Portal)

if we use it....
More, for sure. I think Laurinaitis used his LBs a bit more last year but how do you take Reese or Styles off the field? Especially when the drop off is dramatic. Look at that room now and how young it is. It's a little scary but Pierce played and played well at times so I'm pretty confident in him we just need more guys to make a big jump.

LJ needs to allow his talented assistants to get in his ear more and rotate more freely up front until we find another Bosa or Young (that's probably never happening) but we can hope. If we get 8 this year up front that can at least be mixed and matched we'll be great again and hopefully healthy come winning time. The schedule is nasty though so winning time might come earlier than we want.

Secondary is reloading. Forget about replacing Downs, he's a unicorn and the time to the next one might be like it was from Tatum until this past year. We've at least had numerous corners that exploded onto the seen so since we've seen that happen I'm hopeful and the room has a lot of talent. The Thorpe award may very well stay in Columbus this year if the corners play to their ability again.

I feel good about the Defense all things considered. I mean fucks sake, losing what we've lost the last two years combined is ridiculous and hopefully this year the Offense makes a big jump in dominance and we get to rest these guys even more.

Cleveland Browns (Factory of Sadness)

Browns and Chargers DC Jesse Minter agree to cancel today’s 2nd interview because he feels more certain to get other HC chances

The above is a headline from the local main Browns beat reporter for the Cleveland paper/website. You have to love this organization. However, I am sure they will spin it as a positive for the organization.

Jordan Seaton (OL Colorado, transfer to LSU)

LSU Target Jordan Seaton Deciding Between Tigers And Oregon As No. 1 Portal Offensive Tackle

In this corner, it’s the Tiger Transfer Portal King Lane Kiffin, the new 50-year-old coach of the LSU football team who already has collected the No. 1 ranked portal class in the nation by 247sports.com with 40 players.

And in this corner, it’s Billionaire Nike founder and Oregon graduate major donor Phil Knight, 87, in a fight to the finish for the No. 1 player remaining in the NCAA Transfer Portal.

That is No. 4-ranked overall portal prospect and No. 1 offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, a sophomore two-year starter at Colorado who is deciding between LSU and Oregon and how many millions they will pay him as we speak.

WVUE FOX 8 sports managing editor Garland Gillen confirmed to Tiger Rag on Thursday his tweet on Wednesday of the Seaton price tag at between $4 and $5 million.

A popular belief is that Seaton’s uncle, whose name has not been reported, is driving up the price on Seaton, which is the same thing that agents do. So, what’s the difference?

2025 Season: Are You Ready For Some Football?

That Was The Season That Was: Good analysis by 11W's Ramzy Nasrallah

We Regret the Error
161278_h.jpg

The most consistently terrible program in the history of college football just went 16-0.

This was the most impressive season and turnaround the sport has ever seen. Indiana claimed the Heisman, the conference title, the Rose Bowl trophy in gruesome fashion, the Peach Bowl trophy with similar violence - and the national championship beating a team teeming with expensive blue-chip talent on its home field.

Books will be written and movies scripted about the 2025 Hoosiers, who - to borrow Ryan Day’s philosophy - now get to have their stories told forever. Meanwhile, the 2025 Buckeyes just added another chapter to their Regrettably Lost Seasons tome.
If that sounds negative, consider the new national champions don't even have one of those big, sad books. Every single season of IU football has been garbage, the lamentable adulation which accompanies pathetically low expectations - or solid gold.

The way in which Curt Cignetti was able to pull this off will require thousands of words containing rich detail and numerous vantage points, since one person alone can't win a national title. It takes a coalition of the committed to do that.

But for this humble web site devoted to an annual contender which shed its Cinderella slipper decades ago, this is a very abrupt learning experience. IU's title was not won in the traditional manner. This was a brand-new strategy for a quickly evolving and chaotic era. And it worked, quite literally, perfectly.

The Buckeyes got a close look at what winning meaningful games in 2025 looks like, and based on this experience - here are ten strategies we should expect Day's program to prioritize as it works to stop writing sad chapters in a big, privileged book no one wants to read.

No.1: Win in the Margins

No.2: Survive and Advance in the Trenches

No.3 Deploy a Dangerous Quarterback

No.4 Deploy a Predictable Kicker

No.5 Follow the Jim Tressel Sacrament for Punting

No.6 Act Like a Wealthy Program and Quit Multitasking

No.7 Elevate Portal Management and Free Agent Evaluations

No. 8 Prepare for Uninvited Chaos

No. 9 Optimize Deployment to Win the Games Not Yet Played

No. 10 Be Ready When Luck Happens
