Thread of What You've Eaten, Cooked and/or Drunk Lately

I need to work on my presentations, that first new plate pic was kind of rushed and I'm not really happy about how it turned out. I'll try to do better.
On another note I've been drawn back in to making my own stocks from bones. One can't deny the health benefits of stewed, bone-in meats with aromatics. The bone broth contains collagen and minerals, while aromatics like ginger and star anise have anti-inflammatory properties that can help with digestion and cold symptoms. It's win-win, you just have to take the time to do it and pour your heart and soul into it. It's always been my passion. For me cooking isn't a necessary evil in order to put something in your stomach to make a turd. It's a labor of love, an art, a craft and when it's done right it's a beautiful thing.
Ive got 6 quarts beef stock and another 8 Q chicken stock just from saving waste from my regular cooking.

Seems @Thump is looking for some Taco Bell relief. All it took was better plating.

2026 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments, Arrogant Twatwaffles, Emasculated Cucks, Feckless Marmots, Dirty Cheaters "Mid"chigan

^^^ As he said, total pond scum.
And let's not forget that this shit dates back for well over a century. From Fielding Yost using teams of paid mercenaries who had used up their eligibility at Eastern colleges to beat up on high school teams to the university backing Yost in his refusal to follow Big Ten rules in the 10's to put the football program under the authority of the administration and faculty resulting in them being kicked out of the conference until they complied...the original sin of lack of institutional control.

The entire historical DNA of that athletic program is one big dangling chromosome of dirt.

2026 Winter Olympics (Milan - Cortina, Feb 6-20)

I would think it would be easier and more pleasant to just take a Viagra (not on the banned drugs list) or look at some porn before getting scanned for the suit. Or, unless they're turning their Johnsons into something like the zucchini that one forgets to pick for way too long with these injections, which seems unlikely, just hitting a buffet hard before being scanned would seem to yield more benefits with less trouble.
It really feels like you're just idly speculating when you could be testing your zucchini hypothesis.

2027 OH LB Brayton Feister (Verbal Offer)

Very much a trend in middle/high. We have had several “held back” in order to gain that experience in age. Yet to see conclusive evidence it’s beneficial. One would think if you do it it’s because your son socially/mentally would benefit. That is not the case I’m seeing….

I would strongly disagree. I’ll provide a small list of successful 19 year old graduates who were 19 their freshman year of college for us at Ohio state.

Cardale Jones – National Championship QB
Ted Ginn Jr. – 1st-round NFL Draft pick
Vernon Gholston – Dominant DE; Top-10 NFL Draft pick
Michael Thomas – All-time Buckeye WR great; NFL All-Pro
Chris “Beanie” Wells – Immediate impact RB; 1st-round NFL Draft pick
Braxton Miller – 2× Big Ten POTY
Dwayne Haskins Jr. – Heisman finalist, OSU records
Jack Sawyer – cornerstone edge defender and national champion; draft pick
Garrett Wilson –NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year
J.T. Tuimoloau – impact DL from day one

Could provide probably dozens more with ample research. From the results of our successful history at OSU, taking as you phrased them “ hold backs” has worked out well.

excellent analogy... Hoban was going to use him primarily as a LB this year but when they couldn't run the ball in the first couple games, they had to put him back into the backfield.. Would love to see what he could do on the edge..

Watch out for Wisconsin... Wisconsin is all over the whole Hoban team.. and has been for years
Hoban planned on him playing both ways at rb and mike. He did exactly that.
My bad to ruffle feathers about the age. Just thought it’d be interesting information to pass along. And @Ohioborn is correct, Brayton turned 18 in October. And he will graduate at 19. And the info I got originally was from an IG post, but then I saw it being brought up by other parents of kids he wrestles. Glad that Day visited him, but every major OSU analyst has said that both sides have shown little interest in one another. And Feister just visited scUM for The Game. There’s a lot of time until the ‘27 class signs, but as of now Feister is on no one’s list. And I just was wondering why, and my take was the age could be 1 of the issues. Since the worry is he’s closer to his ceiling than say a kid graduating at 17 or 18
Ted Ginn jr graduated at 19 in high school as did hundreds of other buckeyes. Worked out well for us in the past. No one’s list? Over 30 divisions 1 schools have offered including our Buckeyes.

Jury Duty

I've been summoned 4 times, but this week was the first I've ever gotten to go. I served on the grand jury - pretty freaking cool actually. we heard a bunch of different types of cases and really got a feel for what law enforcement is dealing with in our county.

Have you ever done it?
I've never been selected. It's been a while since I have been summoned, maybe ten years ago.

I have seen him play numerous times. My takeaway was 'this kid is a football player and plays with all heart.. get him on your team and figure out position later".. He's a mauler.. ONLY reason I don't like him at RB is his style.. If he has a chance to break away or hammer into 3 defenders, he goes full bull and looks to make contact.. I worry about health at the college level if he continues that at RB

I never saw the lightning speed but another poster sites that he has almost elite speed.. I've seen more of that speed this year than prior years.. He's note a juker..
I think his ceiling is higher at defense than offense. He could be a college RB and be successful, but I don't think he could be a RB at OSU. Similar to Steeler Chambers, an above average-good RB but possibly good-great LB or DE.

Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 20 Straight B1G Titles)

Dumb question. Is it 'mandatory' that each team puts their #1 v #1 etc down the line? Or would a coach put their #6 singles against visitor #1, and then have their #1 go against opponent's #2 etc? In essence, sacrificing a L, versus maybe gaining an edge against the rest of opponent's line-up? Would think it's the 'gentlemanly' to do, but strategically makes sense. Probably not worth the time to respond, but hey!
great question Calibuck
So this practice you describe has been called stacking and sometimes can offer an underdog team enough advantage to upset a stronger opponent.
The practice violates NCAA sportsmanship codes so NCAA has added some boundaries to protect the integrity of the lineup system.
Each player on a teams roster has a UTR Universal tennis ranking and a wtn (ranking system used by ITA).
I have read that coaches are required to show evidence from team challenge matches to justify their lineup when jumping a player w lower UTR or WTN above a higher UTR.
In dual meets coaches submit lineups in advance and in ita and ncaa tournaments opposing coaches have the right to challenge the submitted lineup. If challenge is successful the lineup is adjusted accordingly.
This seems to offer a better correction for attempts to stack.
