We only really had 2 guys with any kind of killer instinct, Mobley and Thornton. Bruce didn't have his best game unfortunately but if this team is gong to get to the next level, Bynum, Royal and at least one more have to become killers with a Mobley even getting better. 4 killers and a glue guy can do something special. Hoping Chatman can become the Swiss Army knife, glue guy.

Miami starting to play a bit of playground 1 on 1 and that's the kids is death against teams like Iowa and Purdue. Playing in the B1G is the best warmup for this tournament every year imo.

Purdue has gotten their offense going in the second half. Helps when Loyer is having a perfect shooting game, including 4-4 on 3s. Canes giving up a lot of good shots around the basket.

Smith is a really good college player but he's not a pro. Against the better athletic teams he's a liability

Jefferson for Iowa St is out today vs Kentucky due to injury. Huge loss, as he legitimately is one of the top players in the country this season.

In 2006 he was a member of one of Ohio State basketball's best ever recruiting classes; which was known as the "Thad Five". i.e. Greg Oden, Mike Conley Jr., Daquan Cook, David Lighty, and Othello Hunter.

FWIW, I'd put that class as #2 behind the 1958 class (which had Jerry Lucas, John Havlicek, Bob Knight, Mel Nowell, and Gary Gearhart) mainly because they did win a Natty (as well a 2 runners up).

Messick got the last spot in the rotation over Logan Allen...crazy the whole rotation is almost the same age. Bibee, Williams, Cecconi, Cantillo, and Messick, I dig it. Like how our bullpen will be once Gaddis and Walters can join Cade/Armstrong/Sabrowski.

If our young guys can stay healthy, this lineup has the ability to make a big jump from last year. Valera and Chase in the OF, Bazzana sooner than later at 2B, being able to see Fry hit instead of Hedges...also excited to see Manzardo with another year of experience. It's March so I have hope and optimism....can't wait for warm summer nights and the sound of Tom Hamilton coming thru the airwaves

They played great for two periods before the floodgates opened up. Sucks that we had to play the #1 and #2 teams on the road at their place. I don't know why we just can't have a B1G frozen four at the United Center.

No clue about the breakdown but reports from last year were they were spending under the $8M tier.

I wouldn't exactly compare Devin to Lighty but they are obviously both good players. If they could get Devin to come back in a bench role, that would be huge. Every great team needs a couple of strong players coming off the bench.

They are going to need to make some tough business decisions on NIL, though, as many of the guys coming off the bench this past season didn't produce much. I don't have a problem with most of the guys coming back, just with little (Cupps & Chatman) or no (everyone else) NIL. The one exception is Grujicic - didn't get a good vibe from him, plus he liked a social media pic from UM with their team posing as B1G regular season champions.

Not particularly - especially the Cryami game. Execution matters.

To expand on the point - Ohio State is best when it's efficiency is excellent. I'd be willing to bet that their efficiency dropped off a cliff post-TCUN game. Part of what was Indiana was a team of destiny and Cryami played at a high level, but a lot of efficiency comes from goo execution, and the offense was not very crisp at all in either game. You can only scheme or try to out-scheme the other team so much - the kids have to execute the plays that are called or else it doesn't matter much.

Just to make you guys jealous, just sold my ski club membership after 38 years. Wife member for 45+. She has trophies (NASTAR) four feet high, I barely got to the beginning Intermediate stage. Ski Club in Truckee, and regulars at Alpine Meadows. Skiied several of the tracks around, but Alpine had the best runs, and trails for me. Marvelous sport, but one I just didn't 'get'. Great way to spend week of vacation. Always great snow, and even spring skiing (they'd make snow and groom) extended the season. Always skiied long boards, never snow board. And we always watch the Olympic skiing. Great sport - if you can do it...
