Hate to say it but Cupps should be playing more in my opinion. He can shoot, just chooses not to. Wouldn’t be surprised to see White, Cupps, and even Chatman transfer. These kids don’t like riding the pine when the ones on the floor are stinking up the joint. I don’t blame them either. This damn team is nothing but a bunch of dribblers. Yes, that includes Bruce! I see better ball movement in high school.

Golfing buddy played in Tiger's farm system, went to spring training every year with the big team, but ultimately ended up in AA or AAA. Anyway, he was around when Mark (the Bird) Fidrych was around, and used to tell tales of how crazy he really was. PS, Bob Gibson used to scare me, just watching him pitch. Wouldn't have wanted to bat against the guy. And hats off to all the pitchers that pitched (and won) three games in the world series. Gibson was one, and believe McLain was another.

You see that in our slide down the Directors' Cup standings from being 2nd or 3rd almost every year to fighting to stay on the top 10.

Cracks me up that people make excuses for it too. I don't think the Diebler hire can really be excused, just call it what it is, the athletic department being ok with a lazy cheap hire of a "nice guy" who won't rock the boat or bring any controversies

I think we have a athletic department who could really care less about any other sports as long as they can continue to just ride the football program. As long as it's not too awful and doesn't bring bad press they are ok with being lazy and cheap and with mediocre results.

Back to this game…it doesn’t look like these guys practiced at all. Completely disjointed.

They’re running into each other on offense, can’t dribble and they can’t even get into sets.

Defense has no rotations, lazy swipes. They are lost. I’d almost expect to find a virus went through the lockerroom this week.

They’ve lost games but this is an embarrassing level of guys looking like they’ve never played together.
They are definitely not looking good out there. I realize there was a short turnaround coming back from Maryland. They probably got back early Friday morning, and had to turn around and play Sunday. I've noticed over the last several years the program has tended to play better when they had a little more time to heal up & prepare, and obviously this isn't one of those times.

I think it's obviously a very poor coaching job. YES WE KNOW MICHIGAN IS MORE TALENTED. But that doesn't excuse the things you describe here that's all on the coaching.

Obviously not you, but OSU shouldn't be 12th in the B1G in NIL for men's basketball to start with. You seem to get some sort of enjoyment in repeating the same arguments. Nothing changes about the past, and you're obviously never going to get over it. But never giving the man a legit chance because of the circumstances of when he was hired is circular logic. I'm sure if Diebler had the UM job (and all the resources to buy the best transfers) instead of May, he'd be looking a lot better as a coach.

I want him to succeed but I just don't see it happening. I get the feeling we could legit in the future be heading into year 5 of Diebler without a single tournament appearance. That's how ok the athletic department seems with this as long as there is no bad press or as long as it's not like 10 win or less season bad. Would you be ok with that?

Once again how many people are going to want to financially support THIS PRODUCT? These are the results you get when you just hand the job to the assistant of the former failed coach who was a big part in the continued driving of this program into mediocrity. You're gonna be hard pressed to rally up much enthusiasm in a program that's stuck in a extremely stale state.

My stance is it's foolish to hate on Diebler in Year 2 with the 12th-highest NIL in the B1G. Part of the reason it's been 10 years since OSU won a B1G championship is lack of financial support. Changing coaches is pointless without changing the way NIL is funded dramatically. You're never going to be happy following this program because you're rooting for a team that you want to be a contender but doesn't remotely do what it takes financially in order to do it.

These kids need to commit to a team instead of all the damn transferring. Plain and simple! If coach can keep the rest of this team minus Bruce and Tilly, with what we have coming in next season, they should be better. These past few seasons has seen a lot of early NBA entries or transfers of key components to the lineup. There’s a reason the Purdue’s and Wisconsin’s are decent every year. Same with Iowa, Nebraska, etc…Hell, looking back, I wish we would’ve lost the game vs Xavier in 2007. If Oden, Conley, and the rest return in 2008, that team might not have lost a game. Instead, they make the championship game, lose to a team that had at least 3 NBA players, who for some odd reason decide to come back, and leave. Since 2007, this university has seen a lot of early entries, some which were warranted, some that were questionable. Don’t get me started on Buford who shot like 3/16 or 3/18 vs Kentucky when we had Craft, Diebler, and company. This BB team has been plagued with bad luck for years. Chris Jent misses a 4 foot bunny vs Michigan and the cheating 5 when it mattered most and sent JJ packing for the NBA. Lost to a team we beat both times during the season. Nothing but bad luck for as long as I can remember. Heck, what about Burson and his broken neck vs Iowa back in the day? I can go on and on. FRUSTRATING!!

It remains true though. When you settle for assistants of the former failed coach you are going to get the same failed results. I don't understand how anyone thought this experiment was going to go any other way than it has so far

You have stated your opinion over and over. Rehashing it every time the team loses a game or struggles is lame.
