2025-2026 Ohio State Men's Basketball

Couldn’t agree more. The majority of Ohio State fans are not enthusiastic enough about the program to generate enough money to make a material difference. Minor example: When you purchase concessions at the Schott you’re asked if you want to round up for NIL. Me and all of my buddies decline to roundup because the product / fan experience / cost of going to a game is such a turnoff. If the basketball program is depending on fans to help dig this program out nothing is going to change.
Good point. OSU has been squeezing fans financially as much as they can with all aspects of the gameday experience, and they want to turn to the fans for even more money to fund NIL. Kind of falls flat when you have been taxing people so much that you've ruined the experience, fans have turned away from you and stop coming to most of the games. They want you to spend hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars for season tickets, pay out the nose for parking, pay inflated amounts for unhealthy, mediocre food, at an arena that was designed for making money with concerts to the point that it doesn't work well for basketball, and keep coming back for more even though they couldn't find a way to actually give Diebler enough NIL funds to add top-tier transfers.

The obvious bigger problem with this is that something has to happen to get 3rd party donors interested. The current product is not going to be attracting a ton.

Ohio State Women's Basketball (2023-24 B1G CHAMPS)

The #8 Lady Bucks host #25 Maryland Sunday at 2pm on FS1. Finally another watchable game. After this matchup two of a couple easier games vs Minny and USC before the showdown vs scum on the 25th. They should be 25-3 heading into that huge game at Home, which I will be freaking attending, God willing. Theres probably slap a#2 Seed on the line for that game as well.

Would be nice if the boys got their shit together and I could get over for one of those as well.

Yeah, it's like Bjork thinks people/businesses will donate more for NIL for OSU hoops just because the university plans to make an effort to get more deals done. While he may be right in a technical sense such as sheer quantity of deals, it's hard to envision a scenario where the quality of third-party deals, the actual dollar amounts, for men's basketball goes up significantly next season.

I think everyone needs to come to terms that we are never going to get basketball NIL at the level scUM does. As much as scUM and the DFBIA love to fancy themselves as an elite football program, they are in reality not, so they will gladly shift funds to basketball to win there when they are sputtering out 8/9 win seasons at best in football. We can definitely do better than what we are doing though and be more competitive.
