Game Thread Illinois at tOSU, Sat. Sept. 26, 12pm ET, FOX

While last year’s D had outright freaks, even for OSU, it’s hard to know if this year’s edition is really lacking footspeed or are just playing slow because they’re inexperienced. I tend to assume that we have the athletes, if perhaps not freaks, but they’ve got to start playing decisively and downhill.
The constant defensive rotations/“line changes” do not help.

Y’all can thank me for scUM’s collapse today. I’m recovering from having some overgrown prostate tissue removed and peeing through a catheter for a couple more days. Thus, I can’t participate in any of the otherwise de rigeur load blowing, and the bastards have once again blue balled me per usual. And no, I won’t be taking any more for the team in this manner so don’t even ask.
And here I thought it was my whammy bet.

This man went to significant discomfort in the taint area for the win.

That’s next level.

Julian Sayin Shows Off His Legs In First Half Against Illinois

Then the second one came with under a minute to go in the first half, as the Ohio State pass-catchers were blanketed down in the red zone, so Sayin took it himself for a 7-yard touchdown run.

The efficiency hasn't necessarily been there, but he's definitely got more confidence taking it himself, toting the rock six times for 26 yards in addition to the score. It was a point of emphasis this offseason for him to get better on the ground and do more with his legs, and this has been the most he's done through the first four games of the year.

WR Jeremiah Smith (All B1G, B1G Freshman of Year, B1G WR of Year, Unanimous All-American, 2025 Rose Bowl Off MVP, National Champion)

The last td was maybe the most impressive play I've ever seen from him. The one hand grabs are all make the highlights. However, the way he just absolutely juked that cb with a subtle twist of his hips to become wide open for the TD. That's prime of his career Jerry Rice level shit happening.

It’s like the NFL now. People are just going to have to adjust.

The days of hoping to dominate everyone for 12 weeks are gone.

The title contenders are all about the same. Who plays the best at the end? Like it or not the playoff is what matters. Not September
There is so much parity now.
