2026 Fall Camp and Other Tidbits

Just watched the IU camp preview on BTN. We're going to beat that ass by 3 TDs this year and put them back in their place. That ridiculous aberration of a season is over and done with and it's time we get back on top where we belong.

Only area of concern for me is the kicking game yet again. Get that shit fixed and lets roll.

They were blessed with 2 QBs who took very good care of the ball the last 2 seasons. This year they have a guy who's been one of the most turnover prone over his career

Academic Progress Rate (APR)

Just sayin':

1. I remember (many years ago) you would hear stories of players being academically ineligible and/or having to get a certain GPA on courses in the Summer to become eligible to play in the fall, etc. Hell, 28 years ago Andy Katzenmoyer's academic situation made the national news; and they made a joke about the 3 classes he needed to get at least a GPA of 2.0 in.

2. I can't recall any academic issues at all in recent years and I don't recall hearing of any player just dropping off the team for "unknown" reasons either. KUDOs to the athletic department for running what is apparently a "tight ship" on the academic side. They have to be;
a. Screening recruits better and passing on the ones that they deem (let's say) a "very high academic risk".
b. Better enforcement of academic policy to make sure the players attend class and keep up with assignments.
c. Being proactive in addressing academic issues early, etc. before they become an actual eligibility issue.

It's probably all of the above and much more.
"Why the option is all the rage" Damn, that really was a long time ago

RB Lamar "Bo" Jackson (All B1G)

When asked about the running backs on Saturday, Day said Jackson has “had a very good start to camp” and has “certainly stood out.”

"The first thing is his reads and the way he's hitting the hole has really shown up," Day said. "I think he's doing a much better job at the second level. And we've talked about it before, either running over them or you’re running around and making them miss, and you're seeing that. It's showing up on film. It did not show up on film last year. We all know it.

"It’s just practice, so it doesn't matter until he puts it in the game, but if he continues to keep building and practicing and stacking these practices the way he's doing it, it's going to show up in the game. And that's going to be a big part of who we are this year. We felt like there was a lot of good there last year, but there was also a lot of football that we left on the field, and so (making defenders miss is) a big point of emphasis that so far, he's been responding to."

QB Luke Fahey (Official Thread)

“I always had in the back of my mind, like, if I ever got the opportunity to play (for Ohio State), that I would always take full advantage of that opportunity,” Fahey told Eleven Warriors after his commitment. “When I got the offer, I feel like when I went home and everything, it was kind of like a no-brainer for me, just because again, I grew up a huge fan, and it's kind of like everything that they have at that school, it's all positive, and it's a great opportunity for definitely a quarterback to go and pursue his dreams there and further his football career and a great academic career.”

2026 Fall Camp and Other Tidbits

Interesting that Luke is pushing Tavian for the back up QB spot too. Birm said it last week and now Day goes out of his way to say he’s serious when he says Luke is doing well.

Also, never doubted for a moment that Bo wasn’t going to be the starter. You just don’t push aside a 1k true freshman rusher.
