NBA Discussion (Official Thread)

Haliburton was voted the most overrated player in the NBA by his peers this year. His ridiculous playoff performance - I mean that's like his 3rd clutch dagger in a comeback in this year's playoffs already - is suggesting otherwise. Add to that the drama of his dad talking shit to Giannis on the court after eliminating the Bucks. Haliburton is getting a lot of publicity to grow his brand.

2025 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

If I can figure this out, the playoffs would have looked like this:

1. Oregon
2. Georgia
3. Texas
4. Penn State
5. Notre Dame
6. Ohio State
7. Tennessee
8. Indiana
9. Boise State
10. SMU
12. Arizona State
16. Clemson

Notre Dame would have hosted Clemson
Ohio State would have hosted Arizona State
Tennessee would have hosted SMU
Indiana would have hosted Boise State

I would guess that the home teams would win all four of those games.

Second Round:
Rose Bowl: Oregon vs. Indiana
Sugar Bowl: Georgia vs. Tennessee
Another Bowl: Texas vs. Ohio State
Another Bowl: Penn State vs. Notre Dame

I'll guess that Oregon and Georgia would win.
We already know who won the other two games: Ohio State and Notre Dame.
So now we have Georgia vs. Ohio State and Oregon vs. Notre Dame.
Assuming Ohio State beats Georgia, it's irrelevant for who wins the other game, since Ohio State beat both of those teams.

Is that a better playoff? I like the idea that champions get byes, but I do think it's a bit silly that the #5 team would probably have the easiest trip to the Final Four and will get to the Final Four about 80% of the time.

I have always like playoffs that re-seed after each round. It's a better way to reward the top seeds but I know the complexities of travel, tv and all that make it tough if not impossible.

2026 VA RB Savion Hiter (Verbal Offer)

I don't think they really had a real great chance at him anyways, They were probably 4th and best in the pecking order.
Yeah, but once the sanctions hit and the rats jump ship....think of all the playing time he'd get. And XMas breaks he'd have off for YEARS.

2026 VA RB Savion Hiter (Verbal Offer)

It looks like TTUN is scared of Ohio State swooping this recruit from them

Based on a recent scholarship offer, it seems like Michigan is afraid the Ohio State football program is going to beat them for this recruit.

As spring starts to turn into summer, the Ohio State football team's recruiting efforts are starting to heat up. When camp season starts, that's when the Buckeyes start to accumulate more recruits. They still have quite a few top-level recruits that they are looking at.

One of those recruits is five-star running back Savion Hiter. Hiter is the best running back in the country and is from the state of Virginia. That's where TreVeyon Henderson is from, so the Buckeyes clearly have a track record of landing running backs from that area of the country.

One of the other teams that is going after Hiter is Michigan. He will be visiting TTUN on June 13th, but the Buckeyes will have him on campus next weekend. Based on a scholarship offer TTUN just sent out, it seems like they are conceding the fact that they won't be landing Hiter.

The Ohio State football team seems to have the upper hand for five-star running back Savion Hiter over Michigan

TTUN sent out a scholarship offer to another running back in the last couple of days. That shows that they don't feel confident about their standing with Hiter at the moment. In fact, it could show the fact that they are conceding that the Ohio State Buckeyes have a better chance of landing him.

Ohio State feels confident about what Carlos Locklyn brings to the recruiting trail. His first recruiting cycle last year was pretty solid with the guys that he was able to bring in. Hiter would be the first five-star back that the Buckeyes have landed since Henderson back in 2021.

I don't think they really had a real great chance at him anyways, They were probably 4th and best in the pecking order.

2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments, etc.

That Florida team looked like they were playing a completely different sport than us. That game changed things. You could feel it. The spread was no longer a gimmick offense smaller programs used to close the gap. It was the future.

it wasn't their offense. it was the fact that their D-line completely dominated the game.

Cleveland Guardians (2025 Season Thread)

National handwringing over Guards dumping Naylor for Santana not appearing to age well. Similar to last year in Cleveland, Knucklehead got off to a hot start in Arizona but has quickly fallen off. Santana currently sporting a 0.8 WAR vs 0.4 for Naylor. I understood the Gimenez trade but hated it just for the fact that I enjoyed watching him play baseball. Naylor on the other hand was one I was happy to see go, the baserunning blunders, defensive gaffes and offensive inconsistency along with some of his antics were maddening.
