Combining saves and holds would deflate all relief pitching value in general since you are rewarded in only one category and not two.

Not necessarily opposed to runs created, I just haven’t played with this category before. So based on your definition of runs + RBI’s - HR’s, a 3-run HR would gain 3 in this category (1 run + 3 RBI - 1 HR)? And the HR still counts in the HR category? Would definitely be different, but could be a cool change.

Ohio State @ Iowa, Wednesday Feb. 25, 9pm EST, BTN

If they lose out, that would be a situation, in the context of recent seasons, that typically leads to the coaching staff being fired. ... ...

They aren't firing Diebler after this year regardless of how it ends. Id be very shocked. Only situation I could maybe see that happening is if he clearly loses the team

Cincinnati Bearcats (Juggalos official thread of Faygo)

Cincinnati sues Sorsby over $1M exit fee after Texas Tech transfer

Cincinnati sued former quarterback Brendan Sorsby in federal court Wednesday, alleging he breached his NIL contract with the Bearcats when he refused to pay a $1 million exit fee after he transferred to Texas Tech.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, seeks $1 million in liquidated damages, which the school said Sorsby was contractually obligated to pay within 30 days of transferring.

In the complaint, Cincinnati's attorneys said the quarterback's representative "advised that Sorsby refuses to pay the University anything."

Sorsby reportedly signed an NIL agreement with the Red Raiders that will pay him between $4 million and $6 million this season.

"In his lucrative NIL agreement with Cincinnati Athletics, Brendan Sorsby committed to stay and play for two seasons as a proud Bearcat representative," the university said in a statement Wednesday. "He also agreed that if he left the university before that time, he would pay the university a specific amount for the substantial harm that his breach would cause.

"Cincinnati Athletics intends to enforce that contractual commitment. As stewards of the university's resources, the Athletics Department has a duty to do so. We thank Brendan for his time at Cincinnati and wish him success in the future."

The lawsuit said that Sorsby signed an 18-month NIL contract with the Bearcats that covered the 2025 and 2026 seasons. It was set to expire on Dec. 15, 2026.

Just sayin': Colleges suing athletes for braking NIL contracts is just goin to get more and more common.
This will be the only way programs can protect themselves from players leaving every year for another program for a bigger deal. I don't blame UC(or any school tbh) for using this tactic.

What if we had no drop list rules? Chasing those K’s might also ruin your ERA and WHIP. The current “problem” as I see it, is that a low leverage middle reliever is more valuable than a starting pitcher, which is like the Madden 90’s glitch where you could recover the onside kick on every onside kick.
True, but if your ratios are already ruined, you shouldn’t be rewarded by running more mediocrity out there. If you want to eliminate middle relief value, you need to eliminate the holds category. But you can’t eliminate a pitching category without also eliminating a hitting category. So you might then need to change holds to a different pitching category if it is truly a problem.

Not by everyone, and it would be much worse if K/9 is changed to K’s! You can currently chase wins, saves, and holds because they are accumulator stats, but you aren’t guaranteed any of these stats when you are playing a starting pitcher or picking up a reliever to play. The only stat that truly rewards streaming is K’s because streaming starters guarantees increased K’s. However, K/9 rewards quality pitchers over quantity along with ERA and WHIP. For me personally, I see it as a quality vs quantity thing, and consider fantasy baseball the ultimate game of strategy that shouldn’t reward stacking mediocre starters for stat accumulation.

I actually think the relatively small roster sizes and limited number of bench slots also contributes to streaming pitching because there always pitching options on the waiver wire to pick up.

Maybe I’m not understanding, but pitchers are streamed ad nauseam in this league.

2026 Winter Olympics (Milan - Cortina, Feb 6-20)

Dropping $150k (almost double the US median household income) to pay for a party for a bunch of millionaires certainly is a choice.

Not that it’s a bad thing to do, but I’m going to hold my vote on “philanthropist of the year” for someone supporting a slightly more worthwhile cause.
