I have to say, why are we scheduling UGA, Texas, ND, Alabama etc? Indiana isn’t doing that. Oregon isn’t doing that any longer. Penn State hasn’t done that for years. TCUN wasn’t doing that for the longest time either.

I have to say, we can’t afford to lose to Texas knowing we face Oregon and Indiana (let alone all the other teams).

This year vs IU is going to be an absolute war. You have to hope all the tough games we’ll play will better prepare us for that game compared to IU who plays no one until they play us.

I think OSU's schedule gives them an out IF they were to lose to Texas(I don't believe they will). The strong OOC will be beneficial as it will give a safety net that IU's schedule won't provide.

Since the Buckeyes play 6 of those teams, he could be considered correct in saying they’re not playing 5.

I always said that McDonald's and the Cleveland Browns should partner for a contest where the winner of some drawing should get to be the Browns coach for a week.
I was joking about it. Akron apparently liked the idea.

Akron football season-ticket holder can design opening drive of game​

In the ever-evolving age of college football, every day brings something new. Akron is the latest to test the waters of the sport with a fan promotion unlike any other -- one season-ticket holder can be the "offensive coordinator of the game."

The Zips announced the unique promotion Tuesday, in which the winner can script the opening drive of Akron's home opener against Robert Morris on Sept. 12.

All current season-ticket holders are automatically entered into a random drawing for the promotion, according to Akron. For every new season-ticket holder a current one successfully refers, they'll receive additional entries. A winner will then be selected at random on Aug. 19 from eligible entrants.

Head coach Joe Moorhead will work directly with the contest winner to help design the plays -- for better or for worse.

"I'm looking forward to collaborating with the season ticket holder who wins this contest," Moorhead said in a news release. "This will give our fans a behind-the-scenes experience that has never been done before anywhere, so I'm excited to show them how to put together the opening script and see what they can do."

They'll have a low bar to clear, too. Akron's opening drive during its first home game last season was a five-play, 21-yard effort that resulted in a punt. The Zips went on to lose 10-0 to Wyoming.....

I have nothing new to add, as I agree with all of these posts. So I'll just make a post that says that I have nothing new to add.

Pac-12, MWC finalize settlement over 'poaching,' exit fees​

The Pac-12 and Mountain West conferences have finalized a settlement over "poaching" and exit fees.

The two conferences announced Tuesday that all sides have reached final agreements to settle all pending litigation. The statement included Boise State, Colorado State, Utah State and the board of trustees of the California State University on behalf of San Diego State and Fresno State.

"With these matters concluded, the conferences and institutions can move forward with certainty and focus on serving their student-athletes, campuses, fans, and communities," the statement said.

The conferences announced an agreement in principle in May.

The Pac-12 and some of the schools joining the conference filed a lawsuit in California in 2024, claiming the poaching clause the league agreed to when it signed a scheduling agreement for its football teams was invalid. The clause called for payments to the Mountain West of $10 million for the first team that left, with the amount increasing by $500,000 for every additional team -- a total of $55 million.

The scheduling agreement with the Mountain West allowed Oregon State and Washington State to piece together football schedules after 10 schools left the Pac-12 in 2024, leaving the conference's future in doubt.

The Pac-12 had its motion to dismiss denied by Judge Claudia Wilken in November after the sides failed to reach an agreement in mediation last summer.

Colorado State and Utah State filed a separate lawsuit -- later joined by Boise State -- against the Mountain West seeking to avoid exit fees ranging from $19 million to $38 million.

Colorado State, Utah State, San Diego State, Fresno State and Boise State have joined the Pac-12 to start play this fall. The conference added Texas State last year to reach the eight-team minimum to be eligible for an automatic bid for its champion in the College Football Playoff.

2 players depart Michigan Football on eve of fall camp​

Two players have left the Michigan Football program on the eve of fall camp, including one who transferred in this offseason:

One day prior to the team starting fall camp, the Michigan Wolverines saw two players leave the program, including one that entered the program this offseason.

Maize n Brew confirmed with program spokesman Dave Ablauf that safety Taylor Tatum and wide receiver CJ Charleston are both no longer with the program.

“CJ did not receive an extra year of eligibility and Taylor is focusing on baseball,” Ablauf said.

Tatum’s departure is the more notable of the two. He was the No. 1 ranked running back in the 2024 recruiting class and signed with the Oklahoma Sooners. After two years there, Tatum transferred to Michigan this offseason, where he has since transitioned to the safety position.

Now, Tatum will shift his full focus to baseball at Michigan, closing the book on his short football career with the Wolverines.

Meanwhile, Charleston transferred to Michigan from Youngstown State in 2024 and was never expected to play a significant role in the program. He caught one pass for 22 yards in 2024 and did not record any stats in 2025. With his NCAA eligibility now exhausted, his time with the Wolverines comes to a natural conclusion.
