Try going to Hilton Head for some time in the summer. It's a LONG ongoing joke that their entire vacation economy is supported by folks from Ohio. I can tell you that the number of people from Ohio who vacation there is staggering.

I believe that one of the developers who basically help create the tourist trade on HHI was originally from Ohio (or married to an Ohioan) and had many of his friends and relatives who lived in Ohio invest in the projects which lead to word of mouth advertising to Ohioans about this great little vacation spot.

I'll be there along with a dozen or so other Buckeyes in two weeks.

I will be there July 9th through the 16th as well, along with my parents, sisters and their families. My son always gets a kick at how many Ohio license plates there are whenever we visit (he moved to Florida with my ex when he was only 6).

I've had people down there randomly ask my family if we were from Ohio. I was impressed at first (thought they were psychic) but I figure during Summer, they have at least a .50 probability of guessing correctly. I do love it down there.

My parents are now both retired and are going to move to a place just off the island called Sun City. In March I went with them to look at houses, and the realtor said that the existing community (still being developed) is probably 35-40% Ohio transplants. I love visiting there as well, and will do so more often once my parents are permanent residents since it is only a 7-8 hour drive for me. Great golfing area.

I've watched them play in the first televised game of the year on ESPN for the last six years or so and it has never been fun. It's like watching the Browns play the Bills.

Well... if you weren't a Buckeye fan, watching the Buckeyes play a little sister Ohio school probably wouldn't be a ton of fun either.

SCar won the SEC East this year and have two of the best position players in the country on offense. To me, as I am getting used to "Southern Football", I have enjoyed their games.

Holy [censored]ing [Mark May] that sounds fun to watch.

Probably about as fun as a 2-0 halftime score against Ohio U if you aren't from Ohio....(I know it wasn't the first game of the year)

Again, if a team with no real relevance to you plays a ho hum game against a weaker opponent, it doesn't make that team boring forever....

I am just saying, now that I live in the area, I have enjoyed seeing them play. They have some very talented kids and Spurrier ball is fun to watch

I didn't say: "OMFG I LOOOOOOOVVEEE The Gamecocks and they would beat the hell out of any Big Ten school the way any other SEC Speed Demon team would, especially your beloved Ohio State."

but it probably means you shouldn't do your conference supremacy proven by spelling chant afterwards.

I think you're referring to the game against Akron. I was at that game, and it did indeed suck. It rained the whole damn time. However, it also wasn't nationally televised showcase game on ESPN.

Most of the time it seems even when South Carolina's games are close or somewhat entertaining they find a way to drag into some sort of weird suckfest with a final score of 19-15. Maybe it did get better last year because of Lattimore. With a legit ground attack they had a better chance of limiting their drunk-ass QB to three turnovers per game instead of four.

Sorry to interrupt the South Carolina travelog with an article on the potential NCAA violations. :wink2:

It's a summary of what's been in the news over the last 3 months, what has been found out about those things, and how much of a threat they are to tOSU.

Thank you for apologizing. This thread was actually getting far more tolerable when talking about SC travelog. Now you've gone and ruined it again.

(3) Terrelle Pryor is being investigated regarding cars, money and whatever else. However, he is not going to speak to the NCAA.

If the rumors of a check deposit paper trail are false, this is very good news.

As much as it has sucked to have dirt thrown every which way but Sunday recently, it is nice to see the allegations in question and to see how many have came back void. Makes you believe that the punishment will not be as hefty as previously thought. That being said, if the TP stuff is validated and GS is found to have known, that sends this whole thing in another tailspin. Hoping that we self reported everything that is valid and that self reporting matters. Fingers crossed.

I was also at that game, dry in the coaches box lol.... But it did suck, and with the mood the coaches were in, I would have rather been out in the rain. That halftime was the second most uncomfortable game day experience I had. First was the elevator ride down after we lost to Illinois at home. There are two elevators that run side by side and both staffs were headed down at the same time. We could hear the Illinois staff hootin' and hollarin' the whole ride down.

Again, I am first and foremost a Buckeye. I do follow a couple other teams that I have lived close to or had family play for. CU, CSU, UCLA, and now SCar.
