:shake: Nothing has been a bigger disaster than OSU's handling of public relations throughout this mess.

And that is absolutely ridiculous. I realize that today is a holiday, people had plans, etc. But this is something you had to know was a possibility. How you don't have something ready to toss out as at least a token to the media, I don't know.

I know Tress made a mistake of not telling someone about the situation, but this whole thing has spiraled out of control, faster than tater tot throwing INTs. I just cant help but feel this is because of these immature greedy guys. I know they're all over the place, and this happens all over, but it just hurts way more than what I thought :(

The mistakes were mounting...it wasn't just one. JT was a good guy and an outstanding coach, but it was obviously too little control of the off field that did him in. Like some others, I have felt for a few months now that this was inevitable and necessary. So, strangly, I am greatly saddened but yet glad this has happened. Good luck to Coach Tressel in all you do and good luck Coach Fickell, you are replacing a legend and then some...

I love coach Tress as much as the next guy but doesnt anyone feel like a weight has been lifted off our shoulders? Today we celebrate the great career of Coach Tressel but now it feels like this mess is over and we can finally get down to buckeye football with out new coach.

I don't think there is anyway the BOT gets involved and forces Tressels resignation over some half ass media stories. There simply had to be more things that were/are going to stick.

I don't see this as anything but A) a classy move on OSU's part to let him resign and B) an offering to the NCAA to go easier on the program.

Nope. Nothing has gone away.

Back in March Gee and Smith said JT was their guy. Now they fired him. What do they know now that they didn't know then? Which of all these rumors we are hearing have legs?

The NCAA punishes programs, not coaches.

Put that weight behind you and use as a brace for the oncoming shit storm.
