Quite honestly because of his winning record and/or his outward displays of religion, there are those who will excuse anything that's revealed about him up to and including the moment that CNN helicopters might be showing live footage of the dead boys being removed from his crawl space. They can continue to walk with the shepherd, but my eyes are wide f#$cking open.
give me a break. the majority of the buckeyeplanet posters recognize that tressel and ohio state have erred. they recognize that tressel needs to be punished. what most are not doing, however, is engaging in histrionics based on an incomplete understanding of the situation.

Like I said above, we'll all ultimately need to wait and see how this pans out, and the ncaa's final report. That being said, JT's already proven pattern of lies, deceit and covering up, have negated his ever getting the benefit of the doubt from me again. He's guilty until proven innocent in my eyes, and that's a situation that he his past actions have roundly justified.

A pattern? One instance makes a pattern? Ok, if that's what you consider a pattern...

By the way, lest you think I'm on of the people you would call blind sheep, go read through some of my posts on the earlier issue, especially after the facts came out.

But yeah, JT and Smith sure are creating an atmosphere of non-compliance and disregard for the rules...

Ummm, based on the fact that he sat on information of his players violating ncaa rules for months without notifying his superiors (but did notify Pryor's hometown "mentor") and then LIED about it in a signed statement to the ncaa prior to the beginning of the season.

As for being "sick," Do you really believe that I think jt has dead boys in his crawl space? I don't. It's merely parodying the extreme lengths that some will go to in order to whitewash any transgressions on St. Tressel's part.

of course, these people were dealership employees, right?
No they weren't. The point being, regardless of the amount shown on the title, it is very possibly not an improper benefit to doctor up sales documents to avoid taxes, so long as a fair market value was paid for it at the time of purchase, no matter what was reported to the state.

I've had no problem pointing out potential violations and problems for y'all when I see them. Which is why I was in early and posting often* on seeing tatgate as a huge problem for Tress/y'all, when others were still, like OJ, looking for the real killers in tatgate. But in this, I guess I am coming down on the other side. Just the "0" amount in a title does not mean he got the car for free, and if it was a tax avoidance thing - it still may not be an improper benefit so long as the purchase price of the car was in line w/ bluebook.

* To the point of excess possibly. (Can't help it, this is all sort of fascinating to me from a legal standpoint. My personality bad)

Remember that thing I said? Well it was absurd and not true, but I'll be damned if I'm not going to object to you calling me out on it.

How about actually addressing those people rather than this melodramatic hissy fit?

There are plenty of opinions here, it can't be that hard to find some to actually address directly rather than just sprinting into a big populace shouting at anyone you come across.

Well, the fact that TP has been pulled over three times driving three different cars belonging to the same salesman could be seen as a potential monster as well.

Just going through the old posts in this thread and came across this one.

Thought it was interesting given the current situation. Could be GPA worthy considering it was from what March 7th?

Sorry if I interrupted the ORD lynch mob.

Wait, who's going to extreme lengths here in their reaction to these stories? Yikes.

Like I said earlier. JT has lost all credibility and benefit of the doubt. His ardent fanboys will never see it that way (and as noted above, will probably still be on their OJesque quest to find the real culprits long after JT is gone and Ohio State has served the probation his actions placed us on).

Much of the alumni base and the entire country, however, does view him that way in light of the past few months' discoveries. I can see giving him the benefit of the doubt in 2004. I can see giving him the benefit of the doubt when yahoo first published the tattoogate revelations. I just can't see ever giving it to him again.

ORD I think when you started throwing around the death penalty as an appropriate punishment is when you lost most of us...... the reason peeps say the death penalty will no longer be used is because it destroys and punishes mostly people that didnt do anything wrong...the kids that didnt get improper benefits, the community, other schools, etc etc....if you think house cleaning is in order that is reasonable I guess; but I dont believe fucking up my saturdays because of somthing I had no controll over is in order here

Perhaps a reverse billing system to remove any need for future donation drives?
The problem with that is the bugaboo of establishing what my opinions are worth. :p The evaluation committee of Bestbuckeye, BuckeyeMike80 and Muck deciding my hourly worth could be brutal.
