That said, this group of receivers blocks better downfield than any other I remember. The success of the running game hasn't been all O-line, Hyde, and Brax alone.

Good find, but as stated, physical talent in the weight room means nothing if you can't perform at your position on the field in games.http://www.elevenwarriors.com/2014/...receiver-michael-thomas-jumps-6-foot-platform

How high is the goalpost? If he could jump up to the crossbar, then jump up again from there, he might be open? That might work for a QB like Steve Bellasari, who could single handedly overthrow even the Taliban.
No question that 2013's O-line was the best in recent memory but I was talking about downfield second and third level blocking by the receivers. Obviously, they weren't doing the initial blocking but there were several touchdowns and multiple big gains created by receivers holding or throwing additional blocks.Jordan Hall looked like an All Big Ten back in the first 3 games (836yds, 8TDs). Some of that is on the WRs blocking. But, let's give credit where it's obviously due. The offensive line paved the way for not only Hall but Hyde and Brax running the ball. They have been mostly dominate.
And receiving, the WRs have consistently failed in crucial times to get open. They have failed in one of their prime jobs. So we see the frustration in Thomas.
