WR Michael "Cantguardmike" Thomas (B1G Champion, National Champion, Pro Bowl, All-Pro, 2019 OPOY)

Michael Thomas is still a spring star

By now it should come as no surprise, but redshirt sophomore Michael Thomas again led the Buckeyes in receptions in the spring game, turned heads with some eye-popping grabs and looked like a future star on the perimeter. That's a familiar story with Thomas, who has dominated the spotlight during spring camp three years running and capped off the latest one with six catches for 64 yards, including a diving reception for a first down and a one-handed snag along the sideline that highlighted his athleticism and ability to haul in even balls thrown off target.

Expecting a huge year from Mike. Evan Spencer impacted the game mostly due to his blocking skills. I expect Mike to have the same impact with much better receiving skills. For all the speedster talk with guys like Dontre, Jalin, Dixon, Clark, etc. I still think Mike can have an enormous impact offensively.

Someone asked the other day who will be our guy on 3rd down we go to and know he is going to make the catch. I think that player will be Michael Thomas this year. Very sure hands, creates separation, and has the size to plow through to some extra yards. Plus he has received many reps with JT and there was an obvious comfort level between the two in the spring game. I'm with you though, I think Mike is in for a big year.

Keep saying it, he and JT have good chemistry and trust each other.
I'm hoping for something like this:

23/334 14.53 3 TD

You're hoping for 23 catches and 334 yards this YEAR or this SATURDAY? Either way, it seems like an odd wish. I think it would be great to see him go for 50-60 catches this year with 8 TD's. Anything more means we're not getting other speedsters involved enough. Anything less means he's not truly our go-to guy.

334 yards this Saturday is just silly. You're a silly silly man. So silly...
