This truly is crazy. Apparently, he's been in contact with our people at Ohio State who have encouraged him to do the Associates Degree path, which would essentially allow him to start clean here again. Rollercoaster of a story if you'd ask me.

This 2nd chance opportunity by one who erred, failed, or didn't measure up has Coach Tressel's fingerprints all over it.
If there is something besides winning that I have come to value in JT it is his understanding of the virtue of grace/forgiveness/clean start, and not just as an abstract idea but that which is integrated in every practice of molding his players with disciplined coaching, teaching and principles. Failure may be something you do, but must never be aloowed to describe who you are.

For me this situation has bothered me quite a bit (and I dont get up in arms about recruiting...ever)....mainly because of the legacy. I dont want to see him go elsewhere.....I cant stomach Cris pulling for the Canes... I want to see him Play with Jujuan...that could be an explosive duo for Braxton in the future.

Any new news to report on him? Sounds like he isn't signing with any school today, so does that mean he could still be a Buckeye?

Still possible although I would characterize it as not likely...but anything can happen once he has his associate degree. He would have to reapply for admission to OSU, is my understanding.

If he does get the associate's would he get a clean slate grade-wise at OSU or would he still be subject to his previous GPA?

He would get a clean slate but still need to maintain a GPA going forward of 2.0 or better. There is no guarantee that he would be re-accepted to OSU, and thus why he is considering the LOI from Miami, I assume.

Still can't believe he had such issues in the classroom he couldn't even maintain eligibility. Very disappointing.

He's not coming back, either.

Anyone knows how Cris feels about it? Obviously he is going to take his kid's side, but is he still going to be a big supporter or does he have bitterness that the school didn't do enough to the point where he is going to distance himself a bit? Both?
