WR Duron Carter (Official Thread)

Grazie...I'm not surprised. I look back now, I just graduated this past summer, and I don't think that I could get into OSU right now if I graduated H.S. today.

Shame he can't come back, but good luck to him wherever he ends up!

Apparently it has to do with him already attending the university, he'd have to do more at Ohio State.....where if (when) he attends another school, the requirements won't be as high because he'll be starting with a clean slate.

Yes, his GPA would've included all course work while attending OSU if he returned, but at another school it will re-set.

Carter won't return to OSU

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Duron Carter could be on the field when Ohio State plays at the University of Miami on Sept.17, but not in an OSU uniform.

The former Ohio State receiver will not be returning to OSU, said Darian Dulin, Carter's coach at Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College. Carter, the son of former OSU star Cris Carter, played for the Buckeyes as a true freshman in 2009. He was ruled academically ineligible for the Rose Bowl and also was held out of 2010 spring practice.

Carter then left for Coffeyville, where he caught 44 passes for 690 yards and 10 touchdowns in nine games last season.

Dulin said the reasons Carter is not returning to OSU "are the same as before," but he didn't elaborate. Recently, Carter indicated on his Twitter account that Ohio State was not allowing him to return.

Dulin said Carter currently is at home in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., taking Coffeyville classes online and hoping to earn an associate's degree. Dulin said he isn't sure where Carter might go, but Miami is an option.

That could change if he earns an associate degree before applying for admission...

Bingo... that's exactly what I thought whe I saw that he was working on / close to the associates degree.

Here's to keeping the fingers crossed. I'd hate to see him anywhere other than S&G.

This truly is crazy. Apparently, he's been in contact with our people at Ohio State who have encouraged him to do the Associates Degree path, which would essentially allow him to start clean here again. Rollercoaster of a story if you'd ask me.
