WR Duron Carter (Official Thread)

Wow Jim that's completely uncalled for. Cris messed up and has owned up to that mistake and honestly loves Ohio State and tried to get his son on the right track so he wouldn't miss the opportunity he lost.
what part? its a completely factual statement. i dont blame duron one bit. he tried (maybe not hard enough that is another debate) and could not make it as a student athlete. college is not for everyone, that is a reality. if he gave it a fair shake, then no complaints at all from me.

The point is that it didn't need to be said. Cris Carter has gone on to turn his life around and do some good things for Ohio State. To try to characterize his life by that time and to forget what he has done since, says perhaps more about your character than his.

What is it about fans that makes them think that they have a right to stand on soapboxes and spout forth about virtue? These are kids, for goodness sakes, and Cris Carter was a kid when he made his mistakes way back when!

Whether Duron Carter "tried hard enough" is, quite frankly, none of your business and I am very sure that you are in no position to speak from privileged information. I'm sure that I am not alone in wishing that you would spout this vitriol somewhere else.

nor do i really care. i left it at that. its no skin of my nose whether a kid is college material or not. not everyone is. it says little to nothing about the kid. i have known a lot of very successful people who never got wind of a college classroom. mr mac and dave thomas come quickly to mind.

the real implication is that he disgraced his father, thats a joke. further you know what, at some point you are no longer a kid. something a person in college should understand.

if he does make it back on the football field, good for him. but what he does between some painted white lines what make him a good or bad person. i wish the best of the kid in his life...

... or said another way, "Just because something may be completely true, it need not always be said."

jo4h: Cris got his crap together after his goofup and obviously bleeds Scarlet and Gray, and we all know he had a huge influence (although he'll deny it) in his son deciding for Ohio State. So you know he has to be very disappointed in his son not being able to come back to Columbus...that's why I feel sorry for Cris.

Wait so why is he not coming back to cbus?

Per The Bank, the education requirements that he would have to meet in CBus are much higher than what he would need to meet at any other school in the Country
