Hartline and Small still need to step up!

I'm kind of confused by this remark. At what point in time this season has Hartline NOT stepped up? The man is remarkably reliable. IMO, he's our best possession receiver. The man has hands of glue. I also think he is deceptively fast.

As for Small, I think he's young. He'll become more of an active participant as time passes.

Actually, if Robo keeps this pace up and stays for the full 4 years of playing time he might very well end up with a much better career record than Holmes at tOSU.

This year Robo is on pace to crack 1300 yards and reel in 15 TDs (assuming a bowl game appearance). I doubt that pace can continue, but if it does, and then if Robo returns and does as well the following year he could have netted 35 TDs in 3 meaningful years of playing time, along with over 2700 yards in receptions. (He was used sparingly in his Freshman campaign, netting only 13 yards on one reception).

In the 3 years that Holmes played he netted
549 yards and 7 TDs receiving in '03
769 yards and 7 TDs in '04 and
977 yards and 11 TDs in '05
2295 yards receiving and 25 yards.
Very good numbers.

Robo netted 5 TDs and 383 yards last year in a very crowded WR class, where he was clearly the 3rd option. He already has 6 this year along with 530 yards receiving in 5 games.

Another star is blooming at WR U.

The only two games I have been able to see were UW and NU. I never saw a mistake made by Hartline in either of those games.
Hartline ran his man straight to Robo and that man ended up picking off a pass on a pass which Robo - with inside position - would have had the better chance of catching for six (as opposed to his (Robos) defender who was over top). Other than that, I can't say I've seen much mistake from Hartline either.

Let's hope! I shudder to think of the records Robo might be breaking for tOSU by the end of the year.

It could get nasty's all I'm saying!

I don't see any team in our future that has been locking WR's down, so I expect it from him.

From yesterday's media session.

official.site

Brian Robiskie, junior, wide receiver

On the crowd at Purdue

"It's a hostile environment and I've heard their student section is pretty crazy. It?s also a night game, so the fans will be even louder and pumped up. We have started to prepare for that this week and we better be ready to go in there and execute like we know how."

On the Purdue defense

"I've looked at their tape a little, and from what I've seen they seem to have a fast secondary. It's an experienced, veteran unit who can really cause problems for an offense. They'll play us tough and they have a home crowd behind them, so it's going to be a challenge to move the ball."

On whether the high ranking has an impact on how the team views itself

"I don't think our high ranking affects how we look at ourselves as a team. We know we have a lot more to accomplish, and it feels good to be recognized, but we want to end up near the top of the polls. If we lose on Saturday, it will all be for nothing."

On the Ohio State receiving corps

"Between Ray (Small), Brian (Hartline) and myself, I think we have come together pretty well. Our main goal is to help Todd (Boeckman) out as much as possible, and I think we've done that a little more in every game. We have a better grip on the playbook now and we're more confident in Todd and his ability to get the ball to us."

Brian Robiskie is very, very good and brings back memories of Micheal Jenkins.
Brian is kind to say he wants to help Todd boeckman as much as possible. Thats a kind statement but this game would be a huge stepping stone for Todd to really come into his own and establish him self as a true bonifide leader on the offensive side of the ball. Lets do it early in the game and go for the juggular against this team and not let them hand around like 5 years ago.
