Donatos!? Are you @$%ing &^%ing me? The first time I ordered that pizza I was so pissed off when it arrived. Really thin crust and cut into squares? Get outta here. Being from the Youngstown area, we have some really great pizza up here and this was just shit.

Completely off topic (what else is new):
The Giant Eagle in Boardman (I'm sure every Giant Eagle in the NE Ohio region has it) has this spicy cappicola deli meat. May be the greatest deli meat I've ever had, EVER. My dad went up for a family funeral recently and brought back 2 pounds... Couldn't have lasted more than a week and a half.

Pizza from a company that is the "low bidder". :slappy:

I was a DoD civilian employee for 32 years, and needless to say, you don't always get the best product available from the low bidder. You don't always get the best product from the higher bidders either, but that's another issue.
How long have those fuckers had that contract?

Donato's is garbage. It's a fucking cracker with ketchup and cheese. Same goes for Domino's but I haven't had dominos since 2004ish.

Flying Pizza was awesome when I worked at wright patterson. We would get it at least once a week. Now where I work there's a place called Ange's and it's disgusting. I'd rather eat at a RAX.

When I lived in Pennsylshitholia there was a place in town called Frank's. It was pretty good and about the only redeeming quality that place had.

I agree that Dominos and Pizza Hut suck. Anybody ever had Rubinos Pizza in Columbus?

Kosher Pizza? "Gimme a large pizza with pastrami and dill pickle."

There was a place in St. Bernard, an old German neighborhood in north Zinzinnati, called Germantown Pizza - one of their specialties was a rye crust pizza with sauerkraut and bratwurst.

No thank you.

DiCarlos in the Wheeling area. The crust is my #1 ingredient when it comes to making a good pizza. Theirs sucks. They use provolone instead of mozzarella and to top it all off (no pun), they first bake the crust with sauce and then throw the cheese and other toppings on top. Unmelted cheese on pizza is an abomination plain and simple. Yea I know I could just bake it at home to melt it but I would rather eliminate that step.

Absolute blasphemy. Every time I make it back to Ohio, I have to have DiCarlos and DeFelice Pizza.

Favorite area pizza place (since Giordano's is in Chicago) would be The Flying Pizza (across from Wright State's campus). There's also one in Columbus. If you haven't had it yet, I highly recommend. Hand tossed dough (right in front of you), fresh ingredients, great tasting pizza.

The Flying Pizza is the closest thing I've found to Original Rays (NYC) in Ohio. Unfortunately, I don't live very close to either of them.

Ive never tried it....will have to get it next time i am there.

And since someone asked about Y-town Pizza, I have to go with Wedgewood, Belleria has some pretty good pizza, or at least the one in Hubbard does, their food varies wildly from location to location. You can't go wrong with Inner Circle Pizza, Francesco's in Hubbard is also really good...I can go on and on...
