Grandpa's Pizza, near the tOSU campus in the mid-80s. We were poor and they were cheap so we tried it. It was like cardboard with ketchup on it.

I actually really like Little Caesar's Hot n Ready. Love Papa John's.

Probably the worst IMO is CiCi's. Not a fan of Pizza Hut either, but that's because it was my first job and I saw how much oil/grease

As far as national chains go, I don't know how I used to eat East of Chicago so much. It just ins't that good. I like Papa John's, but only if I have a cup of the garlic sauce to dip it in, otherwise it isn't that great. Dominos is passable, but definitely not great. Pizza Hut is probably my favorite national chain pizza. Even after working there I love it, especially the thin and hand tossed crusts. That said, it still doesn't hold a candle to the smaller local chains that I've had.

Pretty tight race to the bottom between the Hut, Papa Johns and Domino's.

But that stuff pales in comparison to the frozen pizza tiles served up in most Catholic schools.

For chains I like Donato's and if visiting back home in Dayton I like Cassano's and Marion's.

In the sixties, the best pizza on campus was a place called the Venetian, right next door to the North 'berg and Larry's.

There was a real dive of a place just south of the dorms, Park, Steeb, Baker - called the C&G where you could get a decent small plain pizza and a beer so cold the bottle had ice on the outside, all for a buck twenty-five. It was a dim place, so dark you could never really see what the kitchen looked like. A blessing without a doubt.

Anthony's pizza, the chain that's on US military bases.

Pizza from a company that is the "low bidder". :slappy:

I was a DoD civilian employee for 32 years, and needless to say, you don't always get the best product available from the low bidder. You don't always get the best product from the higher bidders either, but that's another issue.

In reality, anything not made in the NYC metro area. When I first got to Cbus, I was quite shocked at the things passing for "pizza."

Of the chains, worst I can think of is Pizza Hut. They make great pizza if you love grease soaked crust, greasy cheese, and greasy sauce.

I add my vote for Pizza Hut as well, but I think you're selling them short- they have at least as much sugar in their sauce as they do grease.
