Urban F. Meyer (Former OSU, CFB and NFL coach)

Shelley Meyer Says She's Leaving Twitter After Backlash to Husband Urban's Bar Video

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer's wife, Shelley Meyer, released a statement Thursday on Twitter and announced she was leaving the platform.

Shelley wrote in part, "We all make mistakes-we are all sinners. If you think you aren't? Then cast the first stone."

Urban should've followed the Ara Parseghian model...burn bright, retire young. Ara retired from coaching at, IIRC, 51 and went into broadcasting after. His name came up often about returning to coaching (including the NFL) but he never bit. Lived into his mid-nineties.

I saw almost no way Urban was successful in the NFL. He motivated by getting kids to buy into a program and strive to reach the next level. He HATES losing...HATES IT. As an NFL coach, what made Urban such a great motivator in college is of no use to NFL.players. And he was walking into a baaaaad situation in Jacksonville, so losses were certain. Just a major mistake. Shoulda stayed in the studio.

Urban's ego was never going to allow him to stay on the sidelines forever after the way his job ended at Ohio State.

I didn't think he would coach again in college, not at least right off. Going to Jacksonville is absolutely baffling. As you pointed out, his is not the personality type that works in the NFL - Tressel would have translated slightly better for comparison.

I never thought tOSU was going to be his last coaching job. Some people are just wired differently and Urb is definitely one of those guys. But yeah, all the things that made him a phenomenal college coach just do not translate to multi-millionaires. I figured he’d eventually pop up in another college job in a couple/few years. I never thought he would try the NFL. And, yeah, of all places…freaking Jacksonville, which is one of the worst jobs in the league. Head scratcher from the get.

Not sure if it's too early for this question, but inquiring minds gotta know...

The pic of Urb with whoever was the birthday boy, where he's sitting on a bar stool and there's a white serviette / handkerchief wrapped sloppily around his groping hand...

That picture... was it pre- or post- grope?

Just kinda jumps out (at me).
