I don't think he's struggling with substances... I don’t recall him admitting to an addition problem at UF?
IMO he's just not making smart decisions.
Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer told reporters he was mentally broke when he coached at the University of Florida in 2009 and relied on a mixture of alcohol and Ambien to sleep, according to an upcoming report from HBO's 'Real Sports'.
Meyer said he became depressed and lost 37 pounds during the season in which the Gators went 13-1 and won the Sugar Bowl. After his team's loss to Alabama in the SEC championship game, Meyer said he was admitted to a hospital with chest pains and thought he was dying.
But you see, after an away game in his home state heading into a pseudo-bye week as coach for a team with zero playoff hopes, he didn't take the team plane back to Florida!!! Hot take twitter "journalists" were handed days worth of content, and are being prodded on by followers that have preexisting beef with Urban. It seems people are making a bit too much out of a girl grinding on Urban's lap. Do people really care about this? Like isn't this what most NFL players are doing?

The situation for many Jaguar players is shitty in that last year they played a tank season and by the time any rebuild has the team ready to compete many players will be past their short professional window. But at this point their only chance at a good career (those not good enough to get traded for picks last year) is to man the fuck up and buy into this team and put good work on tape. Or they're going to implode out of jealousy and fade out of the league, while Urban still has his championships and millions in the bank and fine groupies if his heart desires. Winning is easy. Losing will show what that team's players are deep down. Based on the flow of team leaks over a slimy nothingburger phone video, the Jaguars are still mostly a group of losers that have not accomplished and will never accomplish a fraction of what Urban has.
This sounds like Sith Lord fan fiction and I’m here for it.Or that’s what makes him successful?
You don’t believe in Chaos Theory Urban Meyer? My theory, first formulated during the 2014 run, is that chaos doesn’t just follow Urban, it is Urban. He’s built from it; he feeds on it. His best teams are built from it. His best players have mostly thrived from it. The only explanation for Ohio State beating Bama (outside of Kiffin not riding Derrick Henry) is that Urban seized the chaos. OSU went down 21-6 and chaos ensued. Bama was probably the better coached team, and probably equally talented as the Buckeyes. Nick Saban eats an oatmeal creme pie at the same time everyday; I imagine Urban does whatever the opposite of that is.
Did he have an inner circle at Florida? Ya betcha. Did he have one at OSU? Dre’mont Jones didn’t hold back. In chaos lies opportunity. E + R = O = C for chaos. He’s got a formula. It works, for a period of time, until it blows up or until it settles down. If he can’t create chaos he bolts, if chaos can’t be channeled to success he bolts.
"Last night, it was relayed to me that Urban was concerned they were trying to get him on cause and that permeated through the building. And I got a text about that late last night, about perhaps they’re going to try to fire him for cause. I don’t know if they’re trying to do that. What I do know, this is essentially going to become about money. Because I think there’s going to be a divorce. I don’t think that that press release, you know, illustrated any support towards Urban and the regime that’s going on so far down there in Jacksonville. And I think it’s a lot of problems. I think that that was craftily worded by a lot of legalese people smarter than I am.”
Just sayin': In professional sports it is always about the money. Unfortunately, in some college sports it is always about the money too.
Regardless of these circumstances, this is looking more and more like a situation where everyone on every side thinks this partnership was a huge mistake…and now they’re all willing to use this as the mitigating factor to end it…if the price is right, of course.
And the ladies at USC... hubba, hubba.Wouldn't surprise me if he is gone at the end of the season and maybe he jumps for the USC job. Urban just seems like a better fit to college than the NFL. He could turn around USC immediately.
