Urban F. Meyer (Former OSU, CFB and NFL coach)

I haven't seen this posted yet, my apologies if it was and I missed it. The source of the Urban videos:

D.J. Byrnes, a Columbus, Ohio, union electrician’s apprentice, had already put back a few drinks last Saturday when he checked his phone and saw that someone had sent him a doozy: a brief video of Jacksonville Jaguars coach Urban Meyer at a restaurant with a young woman dancing on his lap.
Byrnes, 34 years old, has worn many hats. He once got in trouble for allegedly trying to rob some drug dealers in Montana. He took classes at Ohio State, though he never graduated, and still roots for the football team. He ran for the Ohio state House of Representatives and lost, garnering just 24.5% of the vote. He currently pens a newsletter, The Rooster, that mainly focuses on local politics.
Byrnes also spent years writing for a popular Ohio State fan website called elevenwarriors.com. That’s where he wrote about and covered a football coach who led the Buckeyes to a national championship. His name was Urban Meyer.

He spent years covering Meyer and writing about Ohio State, but a few years ago he got tired of it. He wasn’t a fan of Meyer, especially after the scandal involving alleged spousal abuse by his former wide receiver coach, or of the school for how it handled the issue. He felt that the only accepted way for someone like him to cover the team was equivalent to public-relations work—and he didn’t want to do that.

I'm guessing that he wanted to see his grandkids and his bar/restaurant. Say what you like about him, he wasn't exactly philandering in public while at Ohio State and he's not stupid. I'm guessing that he had too much to drink, the family and those girls tried to pull him into their party, and he found himself in a very awkward situation. Tell them to leave him alone and that is a Dispatch front page story about a Mr Big Shot who hates his customers.

I was most opposed to him coming to Ohio State because of the thuggery taking place in Florida and I thought he had faked the health problems because the team was in a nosedive and out of control. In time, I came to see that he was perhaps the one coach who could immediately halt the decline after the Tressel debacle.

He strengthened academics, brought in programs to prepare students for life in the real world, and put together a powerhouse, but he also made some silly mistakes in hiring friends and leaving his former boss' family in a coaching position (when that guy was a walking dildo).

I am not at all convinced this was not a setup of some kind. Whatever, he saved Ohio State's ass at a time when ESPiN was going all out to crush the program. I have a lot of respect for what he did and how he did it. I strongly disagree with the way he is being positioned in this thread.

More ramifications:

Woman, 24, seen in 'grinding' video with married Urban Meyer, 57, claims viral footage is 'ruining her life' and she could lose her job at marketing firm
  • The 24-year-old Ohio woman who was filmed dancing suggestively with the NFL head coach is under investigation by her employer and may lose her job
  • The video, shot at Urban Chophouse in Columbus, Ohio, also shows the coach appearing to fondle the woman - who has not yet been named - from behind
  • '(She) can't even go anywhere,' the woman's mother - who has also yet to be has revealed, adding, 'It's ruining her life'
  • New Horizon Media Group, the digital marketing firm where the woman works, has not yet fired the woman, pending the results of the investigation
  • The company says the probe is intended to discern whether or not the scandal would have any lasting effects on operations at the company
  • New Horizon does business with Urban Chophouse, which Meyer part-owns
The mother of the woman in the now-viral video is now concerned for the well-being of her daughter in the wake of the scandal, USA reported, as she has been the target of rampant abuse since the video surfaced last week, and is subsequently afraid to leave the Ohio home she just bought.

'(She) can't even go anywhere,' the mother - who has also yet to be identified - told USA Today Sports. 'It's ruining her life.'

The Ohio mother then told the outlet she was praying her daughter does not get fired, because she needs the job to finance her newly purchased home.

'I just pray that Alex [the owner of New Horizons] doesn't fire my daughter because she needs this job,' the woman said. 'She just bought a house.'

When asked why an investigation is necessary, New Horizon told USA that they were merely looking into whether or not the scandal would have any lasting effects on operations at the company, as the firm does business with Urban Chophouse.

'We're going to undertake our internal investigation to determine what, if any, impact this has on the company and we'll proceed accordingly,' New Horizon Media Group told USA Today.

'We've had no prior issues with her whatsoever,' a rep for the company added, saying, 'she's been a very solid asset to the company.'

I really hope she doesn't lose her job... that'd be bull shit.

Yeah, what the hell do they need to investigate? Unless she was working at the time (doubtful), I don't see how this reflects negatively on her employer.
You'd think what happens after work doesn't matter but they'll argue their reputation is at stake.

UFM basically threw her under the bus saying that people pulled him to dance? Well you're sitting in a bar stool UFM with your hand against her backside not on any dance floor. So not sure how she's to blame.

He should know better being who he is. Not a girl who got to dance with UFM.

50 year old dude gets some flirtation from a few 20-something girls and liked the attention.

My god, this is ground breaking.
1. Were those girls 20-something?

2. 57 year old men who are famous multi-millionaires can get as much attention from 20-something girls as they want.

3. Related to 1, if Meyer's going to be a dog, he should be pulling much better tail than that. If he's the kind of guy who just gets roped in by the most assertive "20-something girl" in the bar, he's not the competitor I thought he was.

:tibor:

I don't see anyone talking about this woman and wanting a pound of flesh, only Urban. She is single, being flirty, maybe she knows he is married, maybe not, I don't think anyone gives two shits about her role unless it turned out to be some kind of setup which there is no indication it was. This all sounds like exactly the type of shit you start floating when you are getting ready to try to cash in on out of court settlement because of emotional distress and potential loss of future earnings for rubbing your ass up against someone in a bar.

If anything she may have a lucrative onlyfans that UM faithful will fund.

Or she lives in Columbus. Home of the Buckeyes and she genuinely loves her job and is afraid of losing her job because of the attention from OSU fans?

Not sure how this would be a payday situation.
