Fairly simple math, right?

TOSU > ND > tsun > Utah

TOSU > ND > UofF > tsun.

He merely made it high enough in his pecking order such that tsun could be discarded like an old sock.

Interesting, I always heard Urban had an out in his contracts for tOSU and Notre Dame, but never Michigan. He had the opportunity to take the ND job, but our AD was a dipshit at that time and couldn't be trusted to handle anything. Also, Urban called up his old buddy, Bob Davie, and asked if a coach can win at ND anymore, to which Davie responded "No." Hence, he wound up in Florida, and the rest is history...or legend.

This might be the greatest testament to how bad of a head coach Bob Davie was: He had Urban Meyer, Greg Mattison, Dan Mullen, Charlie Strong, Steve Addazio, and a host of other pretty good guys on staff like Bill Sheridan and he never fared better than two 9-3 seasons.

I find it funny how many teams Urban would have gone to if not for [insert excuses].

Penn State, Notre Dame and now Michigan. It's like Meyer is a catalyst for faded glory programs pining for the past.

If it was 1989 Urban Meyer would have coached our team, you can count on that!

Bob Davie did a great deal of work to put the skids under Lou and get himself promoted for a position he wasn't ready to assume. If you do that you end up with a staff that doesn't have your back either.

Davie definitely did a fine job of pushing Lou out the door, and the administration thought the change would be good. For Urban's part he certainly did his best with WR group though and started making a name for himself as a Spread guru at that time, based on the Gator book that came out around 2008.

Who did he kill? That must have been some violation if Lester didn't put reinstatement up to a team vote.
