Game Thread tOSU vs. Sparty, B1G Championship Game, Sat 8 ET on FOX

SO are they...I know everyone here hates the overrating of Stanford...but they are in fact pretty good, and they can match up with Sparty physically on both sides.
Definitely agree i was mainly commenting on the commenter's assumption that we would win.

On another note. I really hope we see members of this staff except OL/DL/RB are looking elsewhere and some small percentage choose to leave voluntarily

IMO the entire offensive staff is safe, and rightfully so. You can't be that reactionary to one game. But the defensive side of the ball outside of the d line...me no likey

I think it's time to remind ourselves of the thing we were eager to tell everybody else over the last several weeks... just how difficult it is to go undefeated in college football.

Given all of the deficiencies that we are starting to come to terms with in the aftermath of this loss, I think it's time to also show some appreciation for the way this team overcame those things in the previous 24 games. Even as we direct some criticism toward the coaches, I think it's time to also recognize some of the things they did to paper over the cracks to get this team as far is at has come.

It seems like ages ago, but this team still isn't really all that different in the places that mattered today from the one that went 6-7 under an interim coach two seasons back. Taking that team and tweaking it to win the next 24 games before another loss is quite an accomplishment.

Agreed, lv and others, there's really no parallel to the 98 game, except that it was a loss to MSU. I'm at peace with this game for a lot of different reasons. That it wasn't much of an upset (if one at all, most talking heads had it as a wash) is certainly amongst them. The other is that it seems clear that we just aren't ready. Not really. And the one thing we CAN'T do is return to the title game and lose.

We'll get back there. Maybe not when we expect to or most want to, but I know we're going to be in play each and every season no matter who comes and goes. Weasels love to point to the departure of Carlos and our OL as reason to be optimistic about next year, and those are huge losses -- but it's next man up, and the talent is deep. More importantly, everyone better prepare to bend over if we reclaim a sniff of the D that we're used to enjoying.

24-0 with a loss to a great Spartan squad led by MD in our first B1G title game to open Urban Renewal? Yes please.
