Would love to see Ohio State be a school that can generate $10M in donations specifically for football (1M at $10) and give a blanket $100k to every scholarship player and hold some for preferred walkons as well. Then when you get to school, if you earn it you make that money on your own. I don’t think it’s absurd to raise $10M annually from the alumni base as well as millions of other fans, especially when some people will donate thousands. Would be a nice guaranteed income for all and prove it to earn more

On Rivals MB, someone mentioned to add a check box when you purchase tickets to donate to an NIL, and to have some of the cheerleaders outside of the stadium with scanners for donations, and they would receive a cut

And some comments from the Rivals MB regarding NIL, in which I hope this is a better breakdown of NIL and how OSU can be successful. And which NIL seems to be the best option
A problem is that Cohesion is way more behind the scenes. They are also way more effective. Brian never met a media hit or podcast that he won't jump on. He's more visible. Mostly because he likes to be visible. Being visible and being effective are not the same. What Brian has done is muddy the waters because most people know his family has its name on buildings and assume he has similar $ to spend. He doesn't. There is much more Schott family support for Cohesion. Forget what Brian brags about. Look where the actual family $ is going. IMO, Cohesion hasn't done a very good job of elevating its profile. But this is mostly because they're aligned with Gene's dept and didn't want to be out ahead of anything. Obviously, there has been a recent shift and I would expect Cohesion to be way more out front going forward.

They could foster a passionate COMMUNITY of like-minded people instead of positioning it as direct support for pay-for-play through a legal loophole intermediary like a collective. Again, look at 3C for Georgia. Thousands of MEMBERS. (Intentional word. Members join something. They're a community.) It's not a desperate grassroots money grab. $21 per month to JOIN the 21 Club at 3C. $252 per year to be a part of something. Our collectives would do very well to spend a day or two with one of the largest, most successful development departments of a university with one of the largest, most successful alumni networks in the world. Which happens to be located across the street.

Another bit of info to provide, I have a buddy who I've mentioned before that's a Miami fan. He donates to their NIL, and donates constantly to their recruiting sites, so he gets a little extra info at times. He told me last night that there players being offered money just to enter the Transfer Portal. Not to actually transfer and a have a plan, but to just enter the Portal. So yeah, without rules, this is what happens, and it's starting to seem like the NCAA is trying to teach a lesson to CFB programs and their fans who wanted player payments for years. They opened Pandora's box and let all Hell break loose with no answers to all the questions

The fact that fools like us can think of these ideas, but the guys in charge of generating money to get these recruits can’t is utterly baffling! We’ve said nothing ground breaking, I’d honestly expect them to think of better ideas, but they haven’t. Fans subscribe toRivals, 247, BuckeyeHuddle, etc,I doubt many would bat an eye at dropping another $10-15/mo for an NIL collective. Especially with the ability to see how much money is being generated. The fact that only about 3-4 SEC collectives are at the high end $30mil mark shows that it’s possible for OSU to catch up if they get organized better. The biggest fan base in CFB should easily be pacing the field in NIl revenue, especially if you’re able to contact and earn funds world wide

Offer the bar with the most donations free meals for thr following game....this isn't hard stuff....but does require a paid staff.

I’ve seen somewhere suggestions of hiring former political campaign staff, as that is what the UF NIL collective has done. Miami has an attorney as their main NIL advisor for a reason. And they’re set to build a staff and part of a new facility solely for NIL. It ain’t going anywhere, might as well embrace it and go by whatever rules are being played by. Since there are none now, I’m not sure why they don’t attack that, and deal with the guidelines later

I don't understand why I can't go to The Foundation website and buy official OSU gear... will the university not give them the rights to sell? I would pay extra if I knew 10% of my order was going to NIL....

I saw on Twitter the foundation is worried about the subscription model because there has to be an exchange of goods...so send everyone that gives $5 ! Month a keychain....send everyone that gives $100 a month limited release gear. Create a fucking product I can buy rather than just begging for money...that works for very the wealthy, Joe college fan wants to feel like they are buying something.
