tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Since this is the Recruiting forum, would certainly like to have DGG signed up, would be an awesome Buckeye, but at the same time, it appears (to me at least) that the RB room isn't too shabby now anyway. There is a 1,000 yard rusher as a freshman, another two or three guys anxious for their turns at the position, and all are capable. Losing DGG might certainly hurt, but when the band aid is ripped off, the O would survive pretty well, methinks. Would not surprise me that the OLine will enable more holes/rushing yards this year than last, and wouldn't surprise me if tOSU totaled more than 2,000 yard on the ground this year. And as someone above so accurately pointed out, there's always the portal for an experienced RB after this season. And of course, the downside is that if DGG dons scarlet and gray, some of these up-and-comers will run for the portal. Seems to me to be a good position to be in. Go Bucks!

Haven't really figured out whether it's an element of developing early, playing in a lesser HS league, having better teammates, or simply being a superior athlete. And how to compare, say an OT from Florida, versus one from New Hampshire. Yet the talking heads do, and you gotta know that they haven't seen film, visited, etc both. Or maybe it's an 'got the world by the short hair' attitudes. Or do the 3*s simply outwork the 5*s. Certainly not smart enough to know. Someone with more technical savvy and time can probably cobble together tOSU's 3* history into who made first NFL round, versus how many 5* started and ended up in NFL first round.
