2018 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

So are we done with the 2018 class? It looks like Oats and Thomas to Cincy, Walker to PSU, JBB and Washington to Nebraska, and Petite-Frere to UF. Is there anyone else out there?
It's not signing day, and NPF just started his visit.

For me it comes down to the OTs. They need one, and are still in play for both (could be out for Walker but it's a bit early to say that).

Washington & Thomas didn't make a ton of sense outside of chasing a paper title (which Urban does). JBB and Oats are nice players but more bodies at full spots in this class.

I agree with bulk of your post with one nit.

I don’t think DE is full or was properly addressed.

It appears we are down to Walker and NPF.
Assuming both give us the bird we will need to load up on OT and DE.
And though it isn’t ideal we will need to rely on a few of them to play heavy reps as true freshman.

It's definitely not full overall, but this class is pretty decent as long as 1-2 of them stick at DE. I don't think Baptiste changes that.

The only thing this 2018 class needs is one more OT, other than that every other position need is covered.

Everyone seems to have their own opinion, it's OK.

That is where I am at mostly. We need another OT and I would prefer a DE to come in. These ended up being the big positions of need, so I would like to see us pull off at least 1 at OT.

Agreed, hopefully we get one of the OTs and the class is done

Thankfully the OH OT and DE class for 2019 is stacked and we can load next cycle. This year has enough versatile players to play along the lines

The Ohio OT and DE class for 19 is stacked?

Please elaborate.
As far as offensive tackles go, Ohio has one prospect who has been offered and will likely accept (Ryan Jacoby from Mentor). You add in the two tackles from Huntington, West Virginia, just across the Ohio River (Doug Nester, verbal; Darnell Wright, 100% crystal balled to Ohio State) and that makes three.

As far as defensive ends go, Zach Harrison (Lewis Center) and Noah Potter (Mentor) have both been offered and both are 100% CB'ed to Ohio State. Add in Cade Stover (Mansfield; 100% CB'ed to OSU) who is a 6'4" OLB who will likely grow into a DE, and again you have three in-state prospects at the position.

So maybe "stacked" is a bit of an exaggeration, but the Buckeyes are in good shape at both OT and DE with local kids.

All three OT's ranked very highly as well with offers from Bama, Clemson, you name it and they will most likely all three dawn S&G.

Yup, long way to go here, but that’s pretty stacked as far as in-state has ever gone. Close ‘em as soon as we can.

As @sparcboxbuck said, this is stacked for OH standards, were usually having to leave the region to get multiple lineman like this. And you can also throw 4star Steven Fauchaux in the mix as well at DE.

Not to mention we can have multiple DTs and OGs from OH as well. Put up a fence in 19
