If losing Wallace means Beck gone, then that is the toughs...I think if Urban wants to get away from the read option, then you have to find a pro style QB. I don't know enough about the guys we have or coming in to know if we have that for the future. I always had the impression Wallace was more of the read option style.
I never thought Meyer wanted to get away from the read option and go pro style. Trying that is one of the reason his year after Tebow didn't go as planned, pro style Brantley was a square peg in a round hole. Urban likes athletic QBs that can get yards with their arms and legs, that's why we're seeing dual threat Oden as the next option after Wallace and our QB corp is filled with dual threat QBs

Look I absolutely LOVE me some JT but let's not forget Watson was the clear front runner before we moved on. Think of his style when trying to figure out what Urb wants in a QB these days. Very good passer who can make all the throws but who can, if needed, be an effective runner. That's the prototype IMO.

IMO JT is the lesser version(no offense meant) to Watson in that regard. It'll be interesting to see how guys like Burrow and Gibson mature though...

We didn't move from Watson to JT, they were in two different classes. JT was identified from the jump as THE guy.

Stephen Collier is who we got after moving on from Watson.
