tOSU Recruiting Discussion

By some miracle we end up with 24 spots in this class leaving 7 more. We are sitting on 23 with: Raekwon, Lattimore, E Smith, Holley, Gesicki, and Mavety. You have one spot left. Who do you take between: Noah Brown, Solomon Thomas or Damian Prince? I posted this in ST's thread...it's a very, very tough call to me.

If its only between those 3, I'd take d linemen. Have to have a consisten pass rush to win an NC. If we were to get mavety, then I'd be fine with ending the ol class and moving on to the elite ol for 2015.

This.

I'll definitely put Prince before Gesicki, and probably before Maverty as well. And I'll put Maverty before Gesicki.

If we had Mavety giving us a 5th OL recruit and immediate contributor next year I don't see how you would take Prince over Gesecki especially with Blake Thomas gone. Players like Gesecki are unique and you need them to make everything go. I have him in the class if he wants in. For offensive players he is more important at this point that Noah Brown IMO. He is also not someone you bump to take a 6th O Lineman. Now whether to take Prince as a 6th OL recruit over someone like Thomas on the D Line.......I think that is very much up for debate. Give me Holley AND Thomas in this class and I would be stoked. With Price moving to the O Line, if we take 5 in this class I feel more than comfortable.

Give me studs on the D Line that I can rotate in and out and I will rule the world.

Give me Solomon Thomas. I'm a little concerned that we've only taken two true DEs in the last two classes (Jalyn Holmes and Tyquan Lewis). I see Bosa and Sprinkle ultimately as inside guys.

I think it much more likely that Bosa stays at SDE (moving to a 3 tech in passing situations) and Thompson will be coming in as a SDE.

IMO, you're worrying too much. Sprinkle may move inside, but bosa may be played more like cam heyward, where hes versatile enough to play inside of passing downs and can also play primarily on the outside.
We have Thompson coming in at SDE as well. And Jamal Marcus making a good transition to WDE as well. With spence and Washington still quite young, we are actually doing well with depth. We also have highly recruited walk on, Chris rock as well for depth. 2015 should bring on a few more DEs too, I see Meyer bringing in 2-3 DEs per class, to keep up the depth. That's exactly what the sec teams do to keep up their linemen depth.

Sorry but its just painful reading y'all waste your time talking about clueless scenarios. NUMBERS AREN'T A CONCERN. They always work themselves out, if there's a stud who wants in, he's in..... What is with this fear conditioned, constantly paranoid like underestimation of numbers? How many cycles does it take for you to finally learn how these things work themselves out?!? Its amazing to me the persistence of this ignorance.... Anyways, with recent attrition and further attrition expect we get a class of about 26, with a surprise stud or 2.

Also, From what I've seen Giesicki is a secondary want. Ive seen nothing to indicate the staff is really going for it. Brown and Dixon are better players. I know losing Thomas and all, but I just don't see him in this class. Look to next years class for TEs IMO.
